BlackTrack told me this, but I thought I'd reinforce it, because I've seen people say they run wide.

For the same size (245/40/18) the Star Spec is easily 1/2" wider than the NT-05.

How does the Falken Azenis RT615 compare to NT-05 and Star Specs? I hear they run wide too.

Sorry I didn't take any... but even just looking at the tires you can tell the difference.

Don't know, don't care, I wouldn't run nor recommend the 615's to anyone that would be in this forum.

i would...ive used the RT615 and liked them very much....the 245/45 has a nice stiff sideway and i have no roll over issues at the track. for the price there not bad. just not to good in the rain.

Why cant people get over the 615. its dated, slow, and heatcycles out very quickly. Then again, we have a046 nutriders still around too, so...

I cant say Im suprised about the NT05. Thanks for the info!

Is that including the water passage voids in the middle of the NT05 or did you subtract that from overall width?

Where's my dead horse smiley?!

Compared to the NT-05 (which is similarly priced) or Star Spec (which is more expensive) they aren't in the same class from a performance (dry or wet) perspective.

Try a newer tire the next time you go buy tires and you'll notice a difference

The 615 will continue to live on because of the Miata crowd that needs a decent tire in 14" and 15" wheels size. All of the newer tires aren't being released in those smaller rim sizes.

What about grip or lap times of the NT-05 vs the Star Spec, comparable?
Getting my NT-05's mounted today, just curious!

so would you say for example instead of running 235/45-17s, you'd want to run 245/45-17's - does the sidewall aspect take the literal width and thus be smaller as well?

oh, or is it that the star specs are wider than stated

You can kinda see how much narrower (stretched) the NT05's mount on a 10.5" wheel compared to the same size NT01 in these photos.

Here is a 275/35 NT05:

And a 275/35 NT01:
