Venting Trunk with a Fuel Cell

Heyo! Need some help here!

I have my T2 Evo setup with a fuel cell in the trunk and let me tell you, the gas fumes in the passenger compartment are intense!! Holy crap!

I need to figure out the best way to seal off the trunk from the passenger area so I can then vent the fumes out the top of the trunk.

Has anyone had to seal off their trunk for this reason? If so, can you please let me know what materials you used and any suggestions for successfully completing the job? Thanks!

Aluminum sheet, butyl rubber as a gasket (aka "elephant snot" - can get from any body shop supply store), should be all set.

But - you should be running your fuel cell vent tube out side of the car anyway, correct?

I have a cell in an RX7, so no dice on the above suggestions, other than the vent which is pretty straightforward. Just use cardboard to make templates the cut the aluminum and then go from there, no?

Thanks for the replies!

We have a vent hose from the top of the fuel cell running outside the car but there are still a lot of fumes. Will go with the aluminum sheet to seal off the trunk completely and add a vent to the top of the trunk lid...

Craving track time!!!!!!!!
