Cyber EVO wins World Time Attack event!

It might also be Tarzan having driven all the CyberEVOs since the EVO 5 as well, but the bottom line is that the CyberEVO is faster. Needless to say, SSE learned that a proper race car doesn't necessarily make an ideal time attack car. A proper race car cage, brakes, chassis, and coolng system does not make a lightweight time attack car. Clown the CyberEVO's cage, safety equipment (or lack of), and rough attention to detail, but it is fast as hell and does exactly what it is supposed to do very well. You can bet there will be some changes and/or plan changes with the new SIerra Sierra car (whatever car it may end up being).

In a few years! they may be able to... those guys at unlimited works been at this evo platform forever...thats there baby and been developing and upgrading for years before anyone in the US knew what time attack was.
SSE got skills... but I think the amounf of time spent on RD on the Cyber Evo...its unstopable
SSE got money, and skills...but they are still somewhat new to pushing that Evo to the Max
So I say yeah...maybe in a few years...and if the Japanese feel like theyre going to lose (which I doubt) then the HKS Evo will be dusted off and back on the scene
Dont get me wrong... Im for SSE, but I dont see them beating the Japs anytime soon

Cyber Evo has alot to lose... who ever beats them can start manufacturing parts advertisding that "these parts beat the World famous Cyber Evo" and VOLTEX business will somewhat drop.
People buy voltex because they did their homework and because of the cyber Evo...
if SSE beats the Cyber Evo, they can start selling kits..body/engine package deals out the ying yang.
VOLTEX/Unlimited Works are not ready to give all that up right now...even though its the evo 9 body style
It just claimed the title of NUMBER ONE TIME ATTACK CAR OF the WORLD!!!!
Look on the UK forums/ world forums... its the biggest buzz ...everyone wants pics and parts... VOLTEX sales are about to boom again!!!

MMmm.... I think the only 'custom' body part on the SSE Evo is the rear diffuser. The rest of the body, is modified Kaminari. The engine is Cosworth with a HKS intake mani and Full-Race turbo setup. The trick part is the dry sump, buy you can buy all the rest.
SSE is an organized group of Race Engineers. They will topple the Cyber Evo. They've got REAL racing experience, not Time Attack "lapping days" experience.
As Eric Hsu said himself,
The Cyber Evo would never last 30 minutes flat out against the SSE Evo.
You have a car built for endurance racing and then you have a car that was purpose built for 2-3 lap sprints.
Give the SSE guys a second iteration with their new found experience and they'll be making sushi out of the Japanese prepared cars. Mark my words.

SSE will topple the top Japanese teams... just you wait. SSE is not in it to sell products... they are in it to win. For them to bring a car half way across the world with maybe 18 months of development, and take 2nd place... uuhhh yeah, these guys are going to be developing something nasty. I am with R/TErnie... mark my words.
Props to Unlimited Works/Cyber Evo for an awesome showing

BUT! what you think the Guys at Unlimited works are... teriaki chicken makers?
You dont think they are Theyve been at this for years?...
This is time attack! not endurance racing... so all that means nothing
You think those guys are going to be at home playing pachinko... they will test and develop more... get faster too
SSE is fast but right now Cyber Evo is champion of the world right now.
The key point you guys are missing which means alot... they have been Cyber Evo'ing for years, they stick with it and keep making and get better...
They dont lose and buy a GTR or different car and start all over developing from scratch trying to be faster... that car is their battle car...why you think it has the rising sun on there
I love SSE and hope they win, but not happening against the cyber evo anytime soon

Lasting 30 Mins has nothing to do with this, I'd be more concerned with lasting the "right" 1.30, cause thats what it takes to get the W. I think SSE is the best thing to happen to U.S. TA yet and they will dominate, eventually.
If the SSE was indeed built for "endurance racing" they're doing a pretty good job at the TA stuff. I have never seen where they state the car was built for endurance, but with the quality of parts, I would not doubt it?
I am dissapointed though to hear alot of biatchin and moanin about the Cyber car's too light, not safe, we'd beat them if the race were 30 mins... It's unbecoming of such a professional group. Everyone and their little bro knows the Cyber Evo is light and has a show cage...Look at the hood hinges for example of slicing weight , so it shoud have been no surprise what they were up against.
Just want to add, again, I'm a big SSE fan. I like big tech in my racing and SSE has that ish covered. 2nd place is a great result for those guys and making the trek across the globe is a huge logistical challange and expensive undertaking.
Thanks go out to SSE for representing our Nation so well.

30 minutes isn't endurance racing either.
For their first full season, building a more reliable "overbuilt" car is a GREAT call....more to learn and data to gather if the car is mostly working at every event! So next year they can start walking that edge a lot closer with a little more knowledge of where exactly that edge is....
I don't know if there are FIA requirements for the cage for this event or if the Cyber cage meets them, but there should be. Still, the car is very, very impressive and SSE wouldn't deny that.

I'm not sure there is any *****ing and moaning, it's the recognition of the fact that the car is ultra-light because it sacrifices safety. The rear wing ripping off is proof of that. If teams are willing to push that edge, then that's their choice obviously. Heck, I ride a motorcycle
