What kind of camera mount are you using?

 

The in-car mount is an IO/Port roll bar mount using a Canon Powershot camera, out of car vid is a GOpro wide angle non-HD with the gopro suction mount . . .

 

Do you run your full autox aero package on track as well? What tires are you running? I'd imagine your car would make a pretty decent TA car.

Yep, running the exact same setup I run for StreetMod class autocross. Next year I am probably going to optimise the car more for TTS or TTU and for Redline Street or Modified class. Depending on what exactly I do, it will probably throw me into XP for autocross. . .

Well, if you win at Nats, everyone will be all up in arms about how the Evo doesn't belong in SM and how there needs to be an AWD-SM. It's lose-lose either way

 

AHH! Don't even get me started in the B.S. SCCA politics. . .

The BMW's can win every single year with no problems. An EVO wins TWICE, and they raise the minimum weight for all AWD cars.

Then we go back to concrete where the AWD "advantage" is all but gone, and the BMW's win by nearly 2 seconds. Do they raise the minimum weights for RWD cars????????? (that is a rhetorical question because everyone knows the answer is NO!)

I freakin' hope it rains every single day this year and the BMW's STILL win. Sure, I won't have a Champions jacket - but at least I can cry myself to sleep at night telling myself that the system isn't fair! It's the SCCA MAN keeping me down!

 

But the BMWs win with class.... the Evo winning is just a bunch of JDM punks.... thought you knew? I think you are on the right path, building for more TT/roadrace fun (cost per second of running is still likely less!)...

You have proven yourself on the solo stage already... I cannot tell you how many people (granted I live in hickville USA) that I run into, or know I drive an evo... and it is instantly \"HEY do you know that showcase guy?\"... So I go through the ranks of you and Andy... and of course they know of one of you two... And that is before they find out I autox alot, and know you two somewhat.

Now I just need to get paid like a Rockstar!! I need to crash Ken Block's Gymkhana Grid race and show him what grip is all about!

 

When is the big final race for SM? Nationals I assume?

 

A week from Thursday, probably about 10AM we'll be out on course duking it out with the Bimmers. Gonna be a tough battle . . .
