Question from an autox noob
Hi guys, just looking for some clarification. I'd like to get more involved in autoxing and eventually compete in some serious SOLO events in addition to the drag racing I've been doing. I read through the 2011 rulebook (well, mostly, since there's over 150pages) and I found classifications for the Lancer Ralliart in DStock, STU, STX, but nothing for Street Prepared.
I've removed my cat and I'm running a test-pipe with an 02 eliminator, so this takes me out of those first 3 categories since I have a modified emissions setup, but does that mean that I have to run in SM class? Cause I'm gonna get my *** handed to me if I do. I had to do that once last year because of the HKS bov I had on the car (which I've since changed back to OEM) and I placed dead last, like 4-5 whole seconds behind the top time of the day.
I'm thinking that if that's the case I'll have to find an aftermarket hi-flow catalyst that won't throw a CEL in order to run STU/STX without losing too much power but I'd really like to keep the car the way it is since I'm happy with it at this point. If anything, though it's not the most ideal situation, do you think I could talk my way into the SPB class with the rest of the Evo guys? It's like a 2 class bump if you consider stock placements, but it's better than SM.
Any help is much appreciated

Your "Boost pill", intercooler mod, and even crushed BOV all put you into BSP which is where were classed at in Street Prepared. BSP is open for suspension mods as long as you dont change any mount points (no roll center kits either), and boost/intake/exhaust mods are ok. Just cant change from TB to Turbo.
Looks like its time for you get some sticky rubber

I don't plan on jumping out of DS any time soon, but I was thinking they might throw the Ralliarts into ESP like the older WRXs with the 2.0L. Or maybe CSP since it says "sedans over 1.7L & under 3.0L not otherwise classified". IMO it would take some serious money to get the Ralliarts competitive in BSP (I used to have a BSP STi). Based on your mods I don't think they'd throw you into SM.
If your serious, I would write the SEB for clarification on where your put in SP.
grouping you with the other evos is an incredibly bad idea as it would set the precedent. I really am surprised that it hasn't been classed in SP yet..

Oh crap, I just noticed you were driving a ralliart. I automatically assumed Evo (Not that theirs anything wrong with the ralliart
)
I highly doubt youd get put in CSP. That the defacto miata class. ESP is most likely with the WRX, DSM, and Mustangs I believe.
