Strange Tire wear question
Strange Tire wear question
So I'm at the Glen this weekend and coming out of turn 1, I end up on the rumble strips on the left hand side (a bit further left than usual, but not anything major)
Anyway, I then notice a "funny" sound coming from the tires...nothing concerning, just different.
At the end of the run I check the tires and notice that the D/S front is "cupped" all the way around and the surface in the middle is scarred. I've been on many rumble strips on the R6's but haven't seen this...all the other tires are fine
Over-inflation? (typically run around 39-40 hot, but that's in the pits right after a run)
Is the one tire toast?
Comparison

Strange indeed. What were your pressures post session? Only way that usually happens is if it's overinflated and bowing out, taking all the wear. Could also peel them off and take a look from the inside to see if the structure actually failed.
I need a pit crew and a pyrometer
