Evo X owners,
What kind of harnesses are you guys running for autocross and HPDEs? I used to run a Schroth Harness Quick Fit on my STi but they don't make that for the Evo. Will the Schroth Rallye 4 fit? Or what other brands are good that can be taken on and off for daily driven/autox vehicles?

I know a couple guys including myself that use the Schroth Rallye 4 ASM. I don't recommend it for street use, just autox and HPDE.

Edit: Just noticed you drive a X, I don't know if the Rallye4 will fir that or not?

i would only consider a 4pt for autocross,

if you are doing track you should get at least a 5 pt

I have the schroth rally 4 in my evo x. I like them and you can keep the stock belts in for street use. Just disable the seat belt warning if you have a X

I've done the same, it works fine/well. attached the tail strap to the same location as the rear shoulder belt at the rear deck lid (not for street use). Ran it at our local track, no questions asked, no issues.

There is a plug in the drivers side buckle. Unplug it and you will see it's a button that is pressed down when the seat belt is fastened. Just depress the button and wrap it up with electrical tape. Then zip tie the plug and wire under the seat.

I wrap the seat belt around the back of the seat and plug it in.

Yeah. Many DE groups (like NASA) wont allow any 4pt harnesses anymore. Even if they are like the Schroth with ASM. AX -- not an issue. But for DE events, they want 6 (which needs a cage to do right) or OEM DOT belt.

i heard that, is so stupid. Its like when i was at the Hillclimb race with a car approved by Rally America /the toughest safety rules/ and they required that log book for rally cars. I failed inspection since i didnt had a arm restrainer... fact no rally car had it. One thing i t does nothing in rally cars , but we are soooo over any other cars in safety it is not even funny. But still they need some smart guy to dream up something "smarter/safer" then anybody else... So the schroth rule for a 4point is just a same. Too many smart guys ruling in one place, and they play who is the smarter game... Sooner or later they have to realize it, the sports not only about making rules. USA sports , like the US economy , too many bureaucrats sitting on the people head.
Rob

ps : do not get a CG lock it is useless. Get a schroth if the club let you run it or you stay with a OEM set up, as Smike said it.

Excuse the thread jack...
What's the min. requirements for the harnesses in something like NASA? Do they need to be FIA approved or can you run something like crow harnesses that are SFI 16.1 approved? Been awhile since I read the handbook.
