Thoughts?
you have to be careful with a 3D wing being raised into clean air. it is designed to function down in the non perfect flow after sloping down the rear window. the CFD on the new design air foil for the 200 is pretty good and probably enough to require a front splitter imho.

i do however wish that the legs were one piece while providing the height that the risers do...doesnt seem like its super sturdy.

That's true. I am running an APR splitter with Voltex dual canards. I'm planning to chassis mount the splitter over the winter.

So you think it'd be better to sell the wing and just get a bigger one in general?

The wing that are designed for clean air will be more efficient at such. However if you're willing to learn and can apply the correct enginuity you should make the project.

I don't need any aero myself street car, but I'm a big fan of projects and learning experiences. Even when they cost a little dough.

i dont know what your doing with the car or what the rest of the setup is. the apr splitter needs a decent amount of "adjustment" to be worth anything imho.

i think the 200 is a good wing although i kinda hate the way it looks, i have seen some evos be very successful with it in time attack. as far as i know the redesign that just got released was done by andrew brilliant (although im not 100% sure...but i know he has done work for them in the past and just designed a crazy dual element wing APR is calling the GT-1000) and it looks to be making very good numbers as well as being more efficient than the old version.

i have zero hands on with aero yet...i just do lots of reading and research so i can try to make less iterations of my personal setup lol.

I've seen Brilliant's data on the "004" but I've never seen the production listed anywhere. Is the "gt-1000" you are talking about a revision of the 004 in his study on his website (which is from 2011)? Or is there a new one out already? If so, where are specs/prices etc.

yeah i think its the 004 article on his website, if you look at the CFD its dual element. if you look on APR's facebook page they just posted a lift/drag chart in the past like 2 days and said it was being called the gt-1000. according to the cfd it can generate something like 1500 pounds of downforce at max angle (and even has crazy numbers at lowest angle). its the wing andrew is putting on his eclipse for WTAC this year

the gtc-200 just had some camber added and i think maybe a small change in chord length and has gone up in efficiency a decent amount.

just for the flap, it has a stationary main plane.

That wing is pretty much the worst idea ever unless you have a HUGE budget. Forget getting away with a really good front splitter/canards etc. You are going to need a custom front aero set up from DHP or from Andrew Brilliant etc. It will literally pick the front of the car up at speed with a 'normal' front splitter. Not to mention the amount of hardware needed to securely fasten that wing to the chassis.

***although with an equally well set up front 2000lb of downforce at 120mph with only a 4 degree main element angle (can probably get 12 degrees if you are crazy) would be nuts. Definitely makes you wonder how much downforce project Nemo puts down at 60-120mph.

I still think that the gtc-300 is the best middle ground as long as you have a good front splitter/undertray set up.

We are the probably the main provider of custom applications for dual element wing above. Mostly for top SCCA Solo cars. For track use we recommend the single element version. Makes good DF without the drag penalty. We offer a bolt-on custom wing system for the Evo, using a CF or FRP version of the wing. 10" chord x up to 71".

Here's one we just did:
"Rick, the added downforce was insane. The car transformed into a road hugging demon. I still have some fine tuning to do with the overall aero development but this was a huge improvement.

Thanks for the support!!!"

im undecided on that. the new 200 makes an average of about 55% less downforce than the 300 but also has 50% less drag...plus the 300 is pretty damn pricey.
