If you can live without the AC, sure... I am wondering if I can get a "dealer installed" front LSD...

Those mods would put you into ESP.

You would have to do everything to your car that would make it like an RS... this includes removal of the A/C system and components among other things.

Yep!

You can make your EVO an EVO RS, but it has to just like the RS, no exceptions. In stock class, you can't pick and choose the options you want unless it is a whole package or model, or if it was possible to order one from the factory with that configuration. Yank the A/C(and anything else not on the RS) and put in the LSD and bingo, instant RS-like EVO for A-Stock.

Guys... thanks for the info... I found out about the rules a bit
after my last post...

glockprime,

You'll have to yank out the ABS from regular evo though....

I was under the impression that they have to make a certain amount of vehicles to fall into A-Stock. I don't think the 700 that I heard they were making of the RS is enough. Also I'm pretty sure that putting the LSD in would definatly put you in ESP. I thought stock classes only allowed R-comps on the same size wheels, changing the front sway bar, brake pads, struts, + some other stuff I can't remember right now. Even the factory rear strut bar will bump you out of stock class. I could be wrong about any of this so if someone knows better please let me know.

See above on AS classification.

SCCA classed it AS. They do have bring at least 1000 to the US in a 12 month span so I guess the SEB thinks they will do it.

You're not allowed to take your 'Regular' EVO and just slap any old LSD on there.

What was explained above is that you need to turn your 'Regular' EVO INTO an RS adding ALL RS components (THe RS Limited slip, etc...) to your Regular EVO and REMOVING anything on your regular EVO that's not on the RS (like all AC components...). This comes down to every last bolt, clip, etc.....

That's legal for stock to do. Not many cars do it or are capable of doing it.

SCCA classed it AS. They do have bring at least 1000 to the US in a 12 month span so I guess the SEB thinks they will do it.
If a manufacturer makes a car that's less than 1000 units, the SEB can still class the car.... which is what they've done for the RS. Even if they don't hit 1K units, it's still legal in stock becuase it's now classed. The Integra Type-R was also in the same boat.

The RS was allowed in SCCA competition because it falls under the flagship Lancer and the title Evolution. It is not technically a seperate model of Mitsubishi. So it would have been classed regardless of how many Mitsu sent over. Did everyone also know that the Camaro SS, Trans-am WS6, and the BMW M5 was moved over to A-Stock? SCCA is also considering putting the 05' S2000 in AS.

The EVO and STI are also classed in the T1 (Touring) class with the Vette's, Cobra's, etc. in the SCCA (GT?) track competition series.
