Ok I've done some searching and I'm a bit off on which class I'll be in for 2013 SCCA and if it's "legal" with an open 02 dump because this thing is crazy loud. Here are the mods for next season.

On the dump I'm not sure. I do believe all STx cars must have the exhaust exit after the front axles. I run one too but with our local hillclimbs they're prettily lax.

 

Injectors, Cams, Fuel Rail, Ported intake & exhaust, COP, o2 dump... all put you In SM.

 

Dump may or may not make you illegal in any class if you're too loud.

 

it was my understanding even in FP the exhaust has to exit behind the front wheel, not sure how and open dump is classified. some bigger venues have a Db meter and check for sound levels, so that could bump you as well. If neither of those is applicable then SM as dallas stated

IMO we are having a hard time maintaining sites to race on as it is, obnoxiously loud vehicles doesnt help our cause, not does it make you faster.

This is a great point. Good sites are hard to come by, don't be the guy who pisses off the owner with an annoying dump just to sound cool (and it doesn't make you faster )

 

Ok so maybe I went a bit too far for scca autox but I drag race it as well. I have to beat 760 in the 8th to beat my buddys big block Nova. Should be no problem

If you didnt have those you would pass for STX.

 

If we're talking autocross... the only thing that puts him in SM from your list above is the cams.

O2 dump is technically legal in STU and definitely legal in ASP as long as the dump is behind the driver. See 14.10.D and 15.10.I

Test pipe is legal in ASP, also reference 15.10.I

 

I was at work and going off memory but was wrong on a couple of these. Fuel is open and so is the COP. Your porting is most likely further than 1" so that wont work for ASP. Since no one makes a dump that dumps behind the driver, thats going to be illegal. Cams, definitely ASP illegal.

 

I bought the car years ago with cams already in it. I don't know which set they are but they're definitely not stock. I could always get a stock set and a Megan o2 if I'd be better off.
