Mounting anti-sub belt

What's the proper way to mount your anti-sub (crotch) belts? I've got the backing plates etc, my question is more along the lines of what angle it should be at? ie directly under the slot in the seat (Recaro Profi SPG), or slightly fore or aft of the slot?
Does SCCA or NASA care?

Schroth's docs say approximately 20 degrees backwards from vertical where the vertical is measured on the line the intersects where the buckle will be when sitting in the car.

Don't know about SCCA but NASA has never looked at my sub mounting location for hpde or time trials (don't know if they would in wheel to wheel though).
