USA Built WRC Spec Evo 9 Rally Car - JRD Tuning (pic heavy)

Figured the forums would like to see this. All work done by JRD Tuning, located in Atlanta, GA. They are building a WRC Spec Evo 9 for a customer. Genuine wing(molded in house), custom subframes, long wrc travel, etc. All of the cad work was done by hand from Johan Ragnarsson (owner of JRD).

JRD has run my Open Class Evo 9 for the past few rally seasons. You can look at my FB page for detailed pics of my car and some more of their custom work. Lots more pics of this WRC car when it is finished, but here are some right now. Sorry, no upclose of subframes, arms, etc, it is all custom by JRD to remain private. JRD is part of the Panoz group and has experience in all forms of motorsport

Nice Joseph! Thanks for sharing. I drive past them everyday now that I'm at a race shop near Road Atlanta. I'd love to check out the facility, are they hiring lol.

Custom axles. Custom uprights, but the oem hubs bolt on to the uprights

It is for rally america open class.... But wrc design inputs. The picture you quoted was mid cad design. The final transfer case cad is also posted. It will be using standard casing with ralliart internals for ACD

For open class in RA, you can run a Haldex, if you wish. L'Estage does not. Nor does Higgins. But rumor has it, Block does (since he's addicted to the hand-brake). Do you have $30k laying around? tee hee

Or, here's a crazy thought. If the ACD is attached to the center in the same way that the VC was attached to the center of a DSM, then it connects the input to the rear output. Therefore, you could weld the center into a spool, strip the connection to the rear, and use the ACD as the hydraulic coupling to produce, in effect, a front-default Haldex. Yeah, OK; that's crazy. But it's something that I've been playing with on napkins.

edit: I should have said this in my first post in your thread: nice car

One question about the front shocks, if you don't mind. I know that one reason for having the shock come across the top of the axle is to have the room for more travel without giving up caster. But I'm curious if this design also creates anti-dive (during braking) due to the torque on knuckle from the brakes. Napkin geometry says that it would, but I couldn't get verification. It would also explain why left-foot braking is more effective with this design.

Just a thought but you might have them do the cage :-)

Also ask them about the ACD, tuning it and what rear LSD to go with on tarmac if using a tuned ACD

Wow. I'm a pinhead. I hadn't clicked the FB link before now (because FB is evil) and the front-to-back name for your account slipped past me. Silly me.

because there's a big difference between regional and national. And that's looking like a national level car to me

Agree on the car spec part. But for the drivers who just want stage miles/fun, rallies are rallies, club or national doesnt really matter at that point
