Tall people problems...Need advice

Which seats do you guys recommend? I'm 6'5, 235lb

I would like to keep the Recaro theme going in the car. I love my stock seats in the X for DD but as far as track duty, sitting a bit closer to the steering wheel, they seem a bit high for me. My hand barely clears my thigh when heel-toeing or tight turns.

Would an aftermarket steering wheel with a longer hub fix my problem by bringing the steering wheel closer to me?

Binary has been supposedly working on lowering brackets for the X. I know when they released them out for the IX, a lot of tall guys fell in love. It lowered the seat and moved it slightly further back for a great fit. I am 6'4 and sat in a friends car with them and really liked them. I just never got a set because it didn't bother me too much for daily driving. Maybe shoot them an email and see if they have anything coming out soon.

How the IX ones work:

Page that says they are working on the X:

Certainly understand your issue. Im only 6'-0" 170lbs & honestly envy those shorter guys as they fit was neatly into the drivers slot

I run the lowering brkts as well but I have a 9

I also could use these brackets in my x... the position I like to sit in for tracking the car causes a lot of stress on my knee... I now walk with a (pimp limp) after getting out of the car for extended rides

Do you run the binary brackets? Sliders or no sliders? How do you like them?

Have yet to have it hinder my walk, but definitely want to tackle the issue before it does!

I don't generally believe people when they say a mod is "how it should have been from the factory". Binary brackets are the exception to that. I'm only 5'9" 170 lbs and they still make a noticeable difference. I'm still running sliders, too.

I'm 6'2" and fat. I pulled my steering column out and sent it to Kito in Seattle and he added about 1.75" to it. Now I don't have to fold my legs up like a pretzel when I'm tracking the car. my foot work improved greatly once I could get close enough to the wheel without moving the seat up too far. I highly recommend this mod. This and harnesses made a huge difference.

6'2" here on Binary brackets. I still sit with my knees apart like I'm on the toilet.

Going with Bride rails and a Cobra seat this winter.

I have the Planted Bracket and as far as I could tell, there was only one option for the Evo X, driver side or passenger side. Long story short, I'm using it with a Cobra Suzuka GT w/side mounts on the lowest setting and couldn't use sliders because the setup was too high. Even being only 5'9", with my helmet on, I was touching the roof. Apparently the bracket is made with the assumption that the stereo amplifier is going to be left in, which is right under the driver seat...

I'm 6'-2" and I actually like autocrossing and tracking my car with the cushions all pulled out of my racing seat. It puts me at just the right elevation.
