At our events, we use a strict "4-wheels-off" rule. That means you can drop two wheels of the track once...you get a warning. Do it a second time and you're out. If you put all four wheels off in one shot, you're done.

BTW, this assumes you went off due to driver error (like the clown in this video). If you put four wheels off because your brakes failed, that's a different story. We review each incident on a case-by-case basis.

Driving off the track like that just demonstates that you're pushing well past your ability level and don't have enough insight to even realize it.

Well, I guess that this is why you go to a track to learn a cars capabilities. You are a hell of a lot better off learning on a track then on a street. Even though they screwed up a few times you can bet that the drivers learned a lot from each mistake made. You have to get experience somewhere and if they had not been at the track they really could have hurt themselves if not others.
That STi damn near took the Skyline out as it carreened across the track though.

Compared the all the even more ridiculous wrecks you see on the street, here they are atleast avoiding each others idiocy.. and there is some learnig going on.. granted this has to be one of the most bizarre track videos I have ever seen, it's far better than the street racing BS stupidity that goes on toping out cars on the public roadways..

Did anyone notice how stiffly sprung that car was? It was bouncing all over the place even thought the track looks relatively smooth. If he didn't have all wheel drive I truly doubt he would have been able to put the power down at all.

I wonder if this was the cause of his first lawn mowing session as the car really didn't want to settle down under braking -- that and/or he had just passed someone and the adrenaline made him go into the corner too hot.

Always fun to see track footage though. Interesting post.

The title of the vid says Calder. So I'm assuming it was at Calder Park in Victoria (Australia).
