Bilstein 46mm dumpers
I've looked into them a bit. I did a custom Bilstein 36mm setup and really wish I had just gone with the 46mm, but at the time they were still in the early phase of release and I had trouble getting info and pricing on them.
Couple things I have found:
Street price can be significantly lower than their MSRP.
I've heard you can actually get them built to specific valving (including digressive pistons) although their standard part numbers are all linear valving.
The motorsports 1-way and 2-way adjustable shafts SHOULD work with them but I haven't been able to verify it. I think the shafts MSRP is around like $400 each, but I'd bet street price is less.
Supposedly there is a kit number you can get too where it's everything minus the piston and valve stack, sold unassembled. See below for why this is of interest...
Random thoughts:
Keep the top mount as beefy as possible and drill out the shaft to add a Schrader up top to make them rebuildable. Could also do an external reservoir this way if you wanted.

No, they are not user rebuildable. They have to be charged using a special machine. Adding a Schrader valve to the gas chamber though would make them user serviceable.
I used 3000GT inserts and modified/machined some standard strut housings to make it all work. 100% custom done by me.
Starting with the universal struts would have been easier, cleaner, lighter and probably cheaper too since they come with the spring perch hardware and seals/guide bushings. Not to mention stiffer due to them being 46mm instead of 36mm.

thanks!
something for me to consider in the future.
