tracking in the wet
I'm pretty new this year.. to tracking and so far have had a blast, to me its one of the most adrenaline charged things I've done in my life and I had alot of reservations before I actually got out there. The most dreaded thing was that it actually rained on the day and I had no idea how Advan Neova's would actually handle in the wet so I was shyting myself on the way to the track. Heres a video on how I went in one of the sessions:
So after the day I now must admit I love the rain and look forward to the next rain day, I felt I actually had more time to drive better and concentrate on my driving, feeling the car move around under you was quite a thrill but never once did it want to let go and spin me out, I was on the edge but never over and now I have alot more confidence on the street... there was a bit of carnage on the day with quite a few spins which was quite interesting especially when it happened right in front of you. Anyway for anyone still thinking about tracking, its something I would highly recommend for the thrill element and a great conversation starter at parties wheres there's always someone talking it up about their street muscle car....

I think the rain really sorted the men out from the boys, the numbers circulating was really down for each session... which meant more time to concentrate and get your smoothness sorted
That was my experience at a track day, by the end of the day half of the people have worn or out or broken something. Might as well take it easy in the AM and save you energy for the clear sessions in the afternoon.
thats it, I usually skip an early session and enjoy the last ones where you have a bit of room to go up against the car of your choice, the M3s seem to have a bit of trouble in amature hands, you get alot of slow ones and a few real fast guys who will kick your butt and theres always the tocken sleeper that looks like rubbish and is a stripped down shell like a civic or old turbo nissen sylvia which kicks your butt too...lol

west coast tracks looks nice in open field with not much barriers to hit. east coast tracks have too much barriers, and you have to be more conservative pushing the limits.
i enjoy doing track days in the rain also. the evo is very forgiving in the rain and you can have a lot of fun with it.

I'm pretty slow (on this track) but I did manage to get in one solid wet session earlier last year:
