Weight reduction

Anyone run with a gutted interior? Looking to run some auto-x and tracking her at the NJMP track. Looking to make her as light as possible.

This is how she looks right now.

Our race car is gutted. Good amount of weight savings to be had. If you're going to gut go all the way!

You're going to get destroyed in class though

Getting destroyed sounds like no fun at all lol, I have to do WAY more research into classing. I assumed I would be put in a lot higher class due to engine and suspension work, so I figured the interior would be the least of my worries.

Light is good

If your evo has typical bolt ons like almost every other evo and you have upped the boost you are probably already bumped into ASP at the very least but chances are you may even find yourself in SM.

A simple upgrade like a Whiteline RCCK will put you right into SM.

Classing is great, lol

As the car sits now looking at his pictures, he's bumped straight to XP. No reason to fully gut unless you're building for a specific class that allows it.

^ this... ouch. that blue is beautiful though, lol!

biggest mistake I made before "seriously" autocrossing - modding my car *****-nilly. OP, lighter weight is actually more important in autox than engine mods (to an extent)

That looks to be pretty outdated. There have been some significant changes since that was published.
