I have a track day in a couple of weeks and I just downloaded a couple, RaceChrono basic and TrackAddict. They don't look that exciting, I really only want something that will record my speed around the circuit so I can concentrate on going quicker in different parts of the circuit. Maybe I can mount my phone and use the video and have a speedo in the corner type thing. Anyone got a favourite setup that's simple to use?

Harry's Lap Timer is awesome. It's not free, but it is cheap. If you mount your phone, you can have overlays of all the stuff you are wanting. Add in an OBD dongle to display engine parameters.

I use Harrys Laptimer and Racechrono. If one would act up, I would switch to the other.
