So, not my best race. It...was SNOWING during qualifying. You can't make that up lol so everyone was off pace and I got stuck behind the open wheel roadsters. I also ended up breaking something in the exhaust. Sounds like a massive leak in the turbo area so I missed Sunday's race. This race however was interrupted by a Spec Iron mustang in the wall at turn 5 so some 4 laps were pace laps. Then at the very end watch for what looks like clutch parts from another Spec Iron at the crest of turn 11 right before the downhill to the finish line so they ended the race. Russ in his old but wildly powerful RX7 botched me again, no chance of catching the 2 ahead of him once I came around so I stopped trying. Which is good since I noticed the exhaust sound about then. Dry Sump performed flawlessly this time. Pressures were hilariously flat lined at 100psi +/- 10 the hold time lol. Good thing I have another manifold plan anyway haha. This round we're on a stock shortblock with Curt Brown's old built head. New 71hta that may have bit the dust, will know more this weekend. This video was SmartyCam + Race Render for the captions. I like how Smarty does the gauges as it records so I don't have to sync anything.
320mm OMP with the bottom straight. Makes it lots easier to maneuver. Some people don't like the idea of a non 100% round wheel when a car decides to see-saw. But then I tell them to look at every single current IMSA car in the field and most of them have the airpline like handles instead of a wheel, and they don't seem to have issues lol. Most Super Touring 2 cars are classed at about 80rwhp+ more then ST3. I'd totally be in 2 if I could but it just doesn't have the car counts in my region.
Shifting at 7200? Isn't the point of having an ACD car so you can shift at gravel or snow? Lol
Good race dude.
I'll be down spectating at Rd ATL the second weekend in May for the GTA event.

I may bring the X out or spectate myself. Need to save FAE for Daytona at the end of May. But yes on a stock block with a 71 at it's first event, 7k was enough lol.

Damn that Jetta was quick. Do you know what engine setup it's running?

Sadly I couldn't locate him in the paddock after the race. I had a vr6 myself so I was intrigued as well! But he's still underpowered as you saw on the back straight. Kept locking up his rear brakes as well lol.
I have the same Jetta just sitting in my driveway for years now with a bad trans. I was considering using it for my track day build before the EVO deal came along. Don't see many MK3 VW's ever at the track let alone in competition. VR6 is still one of the best sounding motors ever to this day!
Not what we hoped for. An off-road adventure in the first lap of practice took out mot of our front splitter/aero so we had to spend qualifying taping/gluing it all back together. The crew got right to work straightening and cleaning out all of the sand/debris focusing on getting something working. There was no Friday practice day so instead we were on track with 50+ other cars for morning practice and things got hectic quick. Of course I had forgotten to put a card in the camera that session, whoops. After we got her patched up we started at the back of the ST/E46 pack closely followed by the AI/AIX pack as you'll see for this reace. I was attempting to "save it" for nationals but Shake and Break took it's toll out on us. Sunday we only got 2 laps in before the Turbo coupler to the throttle body blew off, so that video isn't worth it. In all total a turbo coupler, 2 bolts backed out of the turbine housing again, and the Starter ate itself. We had to get my crew/family and friends to help push us to start THIS race because enough oil had made it's way onto the starter that it just **** the bed. The high gearing with the larger turbo wasn't quite the combo I was used to so my shift points were off in several places. Shake and break indeed.
That's the plan. I was using Evospec's (Dan's) Ti bolts in both locations WITH nordlock washers, torque'd to hell. The only difference in this case was that I did not go back and re-torque when they were hot like I've done in the past. Mostly due to the tubular header and getting a wrench in there while it's glowing. So I've got two new mitsu bolts I'll drill the heads on and wire like I have already done on the o2 housing side.
This was also the first time i've ever had the TB coupler pop off with a tbolt clamp in there, in what 14 years with the car. My assumption is that so much dirt got in there from the spin that it gave it enough "lube" to loosen up, maybe. If I had that much of a boost/exhaust leak it could have been over boosting too, will have to download the logs this weekend.

move to those wiggins style couplings on the throttle body once i went to that i stopped having issues with pipes popping off. also make brackets up to the chassis rails etc for ur intercooler pipes which stops them from flexing and moving under boost which helps keep them in place.
