Surge Tank Alternative

My home track has a series of left hand sweepers, so one of the first things I did when I started tracking my Evo X was get a Kozmic surge tank. I was talking with a very experienced mechanic and he suggested that instead of a surge tank, a second fuel pump could be installed on the opposite side of the fuel tank from the existing fuel pump. Has anyone tried this?

Don't believe I heard of it before. Not sure there are provisions on that side for the hanger or even space for the top hoses/fittings to even fit? You could simply plumb a inline pump and "use" the right side as it's intake I'd think, but if that's going to be external to the tank anyway....then why not do it properly with the swirl pot surge.

The new Radium Evo X fuel pump holder is essentially a very large in-tank slosh sub-tank to keep the fuel pump fed. Based on the photos, it looks to make an external surge tank for the Evo X obsolete unless you have the most ridiculous setup. Check @razorlab build thread where he has some pics of it compared to the old design (which I have).

But according to his build thread he kept his surge tank.

Only because I already had it and that is where my high volume pump is.

If they had this updated hanger back when, I would have tried it without the surge tank.
