What kind of camera mount are you using?

The in-car mount is an IO/Port roll bar mount using a Canon Powershot camera, out of car vid is a GOpro wide angle non-HD with the gopro suction mount . . .

Do you run your full autox aero package on track as well? What tires are you running? I'd imagine your car would make a pretty decent TA car.

Yep, running the exact same setup I run for StreetMod class autocross. Next year I am probably going to optimise the car more for TTS or TTU and for Redline Street or Modified class. Depending on what exactly I do, it will probably throw me into XP for autocross. . .

I'm sure you can hold your own in XP, I mean the car's already a championship winner in XPL ;)

Well, if you win at Nats, everyone will be all up in arms about how the Evo doesn't belong in SM and how there needs to be an AWD-SM. It's lose-lose either way :lol:

AHH! Don't even get me started in the B.S. SCCA politics. . .

The BMW's can win every single year with no problems. An EVO wins TWICE, and they raise the minimum weight for all AWD cars.

Then we go back to concrete where the AWD "advantage" is all but gone, and the BMW's win by nearly 2 seconds. Do they raise the minimum weights for RWD cars????????? (that is a rhetorical question because everyone knows the answer is NO!)

I freakin' hope it rains every single day this year and the BMW's STILL win. Sure, I won't have a Champions jacket - but at least I can cry myself to sleep at night telling myself that the system isn't fair! It's the SCCA MAN keeping me down! :D

But the BMWs win with class.... the Evo winning is just a bunch of JDM punks.... thought you knew? I think you are on the right path, building for more TT/roadrace fun (cost per second of running is still likely less!)...

You have proven yourself on the solo stage already... I cannot tell you how many people (granted I live in hickville USA) that I run into, or know I drive an evo... and it is instantly \"HEY do you know that showcase guy?\"... So I go through the ranks of you and Andy... and of course they know of one of you two... And that is before they find out I autox alot, and know you two somewhat.

When is the big final race for SM? Nationals I assume?

A week from Thursday, probably about 10AM we'll be out on course duking it out with the Bimmers. Gonna be a tough battle . . .

Do you have a shot of your engine bay?

Its pretty unflattering. I have a ported stock exhaust manifold with old chipping, peeling Swain Coating, FP Green with a polished compressor cover that has not been polished since 2006, black Nisei intercooler pipes with water spots/stains, Nisei mini battery tray with rusty bolts, brand new ARC air box with clean filters ($100 EACH), a raw brushed aluminum Pure Tuning intake pipe (makes more power than most competitors, dyno tested), DC sports titanium strut tower bar, no spark plug cover so you can see all the mess of wires . . . etc. . . definitely not show-car stuff here! :D

So Jarrod, what are your plans for 2011?

Noticed in your engine bay pic there is no sound deadening or insulation on your firewall. Is this standard for the RS or did you remove it? I can potentially lose a couple pounds there from UD/BD in bsp.

Currently my plans are to jump from HPDE3 to TT as quick as I can early this next year and then run TTS or TTU for the 2011 season, including the 2011 NASA Championships if I get enough events in to qualify. ALSO, I plan to run a series of 7 or so tracks in 9 days early in the year. More info should be coming soon regarding this endeavor . . . :D

As for the sound deadening - whatever is there is OEM. Nothing has been removed or added. If you want some more or better pics of firewall area I can probably provide . . . but it should be the same for all EVO RS's.

BTW - GOOD CATCH! Even after all these years I never noticed a difference in that between my '04 GSR and my '06 RS. I remember cutting that multi-layer sound deadening crap on my '04 to route a hole for various sensor wiring through the firewall. . .

Yeah, if you don't mind taking 1-2 shots behind the intake mani area that would be appreciated. Only reason I noticed is my engine bay is totally empty right now.

Had another questions for you, have you made any changes to the suspension setup when running road courses? I'm really thinking about getting mine out to a track day or two this year.

PMd the pics. As far as changes - I usually just run a little less toe out in the rear and higher wing angle to settle down the rear end. If you run the track days you might just give up on autocross! :D

Hey everybody now is the perfect time for removing sound proofing. With sub zero temperatures moving across the country this is the best time to open your garage door and let the cold air freeze the metal and sound proofing. Buy a nice clean rubber mallet and start breaking the sound proofing off. It will break like glass, in big pieces, and require very minimal clean up with a solvent when you warm back up. No scratches will happen and it will look factory fresh where the adhesive sound proofing was. The colder the better! dress warm and go at it.

Supposed to get down to 34 tonight.....for a whole 6 seconds :lol:

Which Summit Point event were you planning on attending?

Will be there for one of the stops of the 2011 One Lap of America.

Updated with vid from last weekend's NASA stop at Autobahn Country Club, South Course. Won TTU on Saturday, TTR on Sunday, and set a new TTR track record! :)

Vids from One Lap are slow coming. Did not get as much footage as I had hoped due to the crazy schedule and some unfortunate mechanical issues. I will add them to the initial post eventually. . .

Updated 1st post with a vid of 3 laps around MidOhio at the NASA Championships. I came home with a TTU Championship and a best lap of 1:29.7 :)

Worth to mention when you run on tarmac , the fwd cars has no restriction... So how would you like where we run? We limited to 300 and below whp , but 2 wd cars are open.

I runned against them, they simply destroy you. Around 500lb and above lighter same tire size and who knows where they ending up in hp...

Since the ford launched they fiesta and getting involved with rally this is just getting worst...
US just have way too much politics...

At my last race after the practice the loud speakers on the podium was an interview with the Ford factory driver and Xgames driver Duplassis. (I have a video footage)
He and the team stated they are here to win the overall rally car category etc. It will be a good commercial base for they campaing, pluss here are the subarus also to make history for Vermony sports car (rally america- Xgames) and ford. They are in hand in hand...

Long story short n one subaru made it to the first place with a wrc driver muliple usa rally champ eu rally champ guy with a subaru america factory team / backed open car. (Not rally) he had 750 wtq I know that from fact and all you need, like sequantial shifter etc. Its a factory car.

So anyway we won the overall and the rally1( highest class) category...

There was. 3 podium ceremony, one for vintage cars , one for rally one for open class, right :)

There was travel channel - speed etc out there. Each winner was and sometimes second place guys was intervied on the podium.

Guess who was the one got the trophy and literally pushed a way?...
This is how it feelt, here it is and get out of here...

So talking about politics in racing... I feel it every time I race... The other RA hill climb I also won and even today I still haven't reicived my trophy... How you like that ? LOL
They are happy I don't have money to actually practice and run more events as far as I think.

In closing : there is shirts calendars etc came out abouth that race , will on tv etc.

I couldn't find anything about my car, but with ford and subaru...

Think about this vs you got slammed with weight restriction....

Car looked like it was balanced pretty well through that record lap. Looks like the rear got a little greasy after that. Nice setup.

Yep, 4.11 final drive. All other gears are Evo9 ratios.

Barber is one of my all time favorites. Wish I could run a couple full days with NASA TT there sometime.

Unfortunately, no NASA events there since like 2008,2009. Not looking good for the near future.
