If there is one thing I wish the Evo 8/9 had that it does not have.. it's cruise control. It can really help one from getting speed creep on the big open highways around here.

absolutely...why own an Evo if you miss using a cruise control-

that's a physical reminder of the car's need to get offf of the interstate and live for twisties
I did interstate straight to Jacsonville-on a sched- but the deal was, on the way back-NO INTERSTATE- IT WAS AWESOME-
we had so much fun, we sidetripped to 'Tail-of-the-Dragon' ie Deal's Gap
No interstate required some state maps at every border crossing, but we also met a lot of locals who literally chased us down to play Evos for a while!!!
can't wait to do it again w/my new Tom-Tom (thanks Shimanchu)

No traffic jams on the back roads, and even 'fewer cops'
we did honor the 'city limits' where most of the local cops reside

Oh, and having the loudest road car around, i have found the perfect combination for the noise control AND great stereo...

I think Laramie's coworker and red evo 8 might be trying for your "loudest evo evar" title Kelly!

Whenever we go to Oklahoma and we're going up I35, we almost always get off in the arbuckles and take the side roads to get a little twisty road fun. Even when we're in the other car!

I bought my 9 in cali, drove 1100 miles in a week on southern cal's most awesome roads. Then I took the 1800 mile drive home to houston. close to 3000 miles in 10 days. No probs and awesome way to break in my new car.

I've done plenty of driving around in Texas--from Austin to Houston, up to the Metroplex--mostly by myself. I hate driving with cruise control, so I don't fret that the Evo doesn't have it. I end up getting really tired/bored if I cruise at a consistent speed, so I tend to drive fast (i.e. cruise in the 90's when it's open). I get about 21-22 MPG when I drive like that. My best is 24 MPG, and I'm not tuned. I have yet to embark on a 4+ hour long drive in the Evo yet, I have the feeling I'll be hitting up the back roads if I do.
