Anyone know any good/evo friendly places to get a state inspection done in the Plano area? I'm about to take my HFC off and replace with a test pipe so need to get the inspection taken care of before that.

I had no issues getting my Evo inspected anywhere. just ensure it is not throwing a CEL.

 

yeah just get the cat code cleared. they dont even hook anything to the exhaust on new cars. they just make sure ur CEL isn't on, on OBD2 cars. and ur lights and tint and crap.

btw..if you have dark tint on the front, roll em down and pull the fuse. if they say they need to check, inform them that the front windows working is not a necessity with passing inspection. worked for me once

 

go to pool's chevron in hallsville TX i went there to get my truck inspected, and it had no exhaust whatsoever, and the guy opened up the hood, took a look at the engine, chuged his beer, and said "does it run good?" i said yeah, it has been for ahwile, he shut the hood and said, your ggod man! haha, no joke, i swear.

 

i just noticed you live in plano..the quick lube next to my place over off midway and hebron is cool. the owners drives an f430 ferrari, and loves cars

Has anyone in the area ever had a cop actually look at their exhaust and ticket them for now cat? I have a resonator so worst case I could always tell the cop that's my HFC, lol.

Yeah, don't worry about cops looking under the car. They usually don't know what our cars are. I got (wrongfully) pulled over for "peeling out" and I had to get on the ground and prove to the cop that my car was all-wheel drive. He let me go.

Ended up stopping by the Jiffy Lube on Legacy & Independance. The lady (must have been the owner) plugged in the computer and 5 mins. later I was done. Didn't check anything, tires, tint, lights, etc. Just sat by the computer the whole time. These inspections are a joke, I'm sure it's all about the dough.

actually, the emissions inspection is our responce to the EPA about the amount of air pollution "will eventually put a hole in the ozone lair if we dont crack down"

but i agree the safty part of the inspection is a joke and so is the "OBDII" part.. OBDI all i have to do is look at the car, and stick a probe in the exhaust to see if its running rich. i can pass it with a check engine light.. i wouldnt mind if we didnt have to have such gay stickers in our windows
