Custom exhaust

I Forget what thread it was but byebye's custom axleback got me thinking about making an exhaust for my X. I had a custom turboback on my DSM and saved me alot of money. However, the DSM exhaust was just good enought to not leak, break, rust. The X exhaust will be TIG welded and SS Flanges. I already have all the parts except the flanges and gaskets, those are in the mail.

Teh work horse:

Teh bends:

This exhaust will be painted black and will be TIG welded for an awesome bond. The paint will be high heat resistant paint and to prevent rusting. Single exit.

I have 7.5 ft of stragiht pipe for this project. It will be a catback for now, unless I have enough left for the mid pipe. I'll keep you boys posted.

Yes. Its hard to find stainless. Besides, paint will work just fine to prevent rustin. Dont need that fancy stainless stuff.

Update.

The exhaust is done. Check it.

DOIN WORK SON

Everything was tacked on like this for fitment.

EXTREME ENGINEERING

Test fitment almost done.

It works, get off me. :P

TIG treatment complete.

Your boy with heat treated exhaust. Word to your mothers.

I will bolt it on here in a few mins. The stock gasket will be used.

Discuss.

My friend and I did all the fitment and cutting. He tacked it together and his pop's shop has a TIG welder. He finished it off and brought it back.

Ill count how much I spent, rounded up.

Muffer: 52 s+h included
Bends: 50 s+h included
Straight pipe: 7.5 ft for 30
Paint: 10
Case of beer for my friends pop: 25

All this comes out to an exhaust roughly 167. This is not counting the parts I traded my friend for helping me(FP Intake pipe for DSM, Twin Piston "Big Brakes" for DSM"). Not bad eh?
