registering a car in TX

We're going to get our licenses and cars switched over to TX from MN and just wondering if the DMV does the initial emissions test or if we go elsewhere to get that once once we register the car. Getting info out of the DMV is like pulling teeth so I've come to you guys!

I just found on their site that we need to do inspections first.

yah... emision then drive it to the registration. dmv is for your lic is easy.
