Test pipe question from the new guy

So i recently purchased a ETS catback and a UR downpipe. Now I am in need of a test pipe. I was looking for cost effective and quality, of course.

Did a google search for one and found a really cheap Megan Racing one for 129 shipped.

Main question is there a reason that this one wouldnt be a good idea? Since its just a strait pipe I really dont know of much you could mess up, but I wanted to ask before I make an uninformed decision.

Thanks in advance

The test pipe is your best bang for the buck exhaust section for the X. The OEM cat converter is very restictive and with the deletion of it, you can free up somehwere around 10-15hp and 20-30flbs. I would recommend this:

I have one on my car and it is a nice piece. Made very well, and it has the CEL/SES fix built right in. Basically you wont have to buy anything else to make sure you wont throw codes for now having a cat. The stock 02 sensor goes right into that elongated angled bung so it wont give you an SES. Plus they all come with an extra bung for an aftermarket wideband gauge. I love my speed circuit pipe and highly recommend it. Plus its only $150.

In my experience modding cars, Megan does not make good products. Theres a reason why all of there stuff is typically 20-30% cheaper than everything else out there. Fitment, and lasting quality were usually the issues I had with the handful of Megan products Ive come across. Just my 2 cents

Megan's testpipes are very nice, especially considering the cost. I had a Megan testpipe on my S2000 and have helped install numerous ones on Evo 8/9's. Every single one had perfect fitment and the welds are nicer than most "premium" exhaust that I've seen. I'm not a fan of some of their stuff (brakes, suspension, etc.) but their exhaust components fit and work.
