i have worked on both vehicles (i am a diesel tech in training). and i know for a fact, dodges 2500 transmission is TERRIBLE. fords Torque Shift is a much more reliable trans and defiantly more well built. and no offense to mike, or anyone with a dodge truck. but their interior may LOOK nice. but are made like absolute CRAP. i cant tell you how many times (when i worked at goodyear) we had to replaced dodge ram dashes because you cannot touch it without it cracking straight down the middle. we have ex dodge employees at my ford dealership and every single one of them will tell you dodges diesels are CRAP. the cummins motor is nice, but think about this. ford created/owned both allison transmissions (chevy 2500+ diesel trans) and cummins, (dodges motors.) of course they sold them, but neither company has changed their technology. the ford f250s have the best of both worlds not to mention look at the size of ram 2500s rear diff. and then look at the f250s. MUCH beefier in the f250. the brakes, and suspension are both much nicer on the f250 too. sure the ram MAY be more comfortable, but will NEVER out perform an f250 if you actually tow.

sorry for my rant, but i am a FIRM believer that ford without a doubt makes the best truck in america. there must be a reason the ford f150 is the most sold vehicle in america, next to the camry (HA!) and then silverado.

I see your rant and double it, hehehe.

I work with Fords also at my mechanic job. And you are correct in most instances. Of course all of this is useless because is all based on opinion. But yes. Dodge interiors used to be the worst. I did alarms/car audio for 20 years and the Dodge interior was the worst, although it was the easiest to disassemble.

Also you are correct in the sense that Dodge transmissions are the worst of the bunch. But using the same criteria, Ford (Navstar-International) engines are the worst of the Diesel engines. No wonder Ford dropped them for MY2011. They are having such a difficult time with warranties on Powerstroke engines that it called for a totally internal design change. Meanwhile little GM has always been using the best transmission of the bunch, Allison and a disposable engine from Isuzu.

So if I would had a chance to build my dream truck, I will be using a Ford chassis, Dodge interior (2010), Cummins Turbo Diesel engine and Allison transmission. FTMFW !

And that reason is because they are the lowest price P/U in NA. Period. 110 years in a row.

I whole heartedly disagree as I said I have a rather large fleet in my Burleson yard that consists of dodge and a few fords. The Dodges will flat out ,out pull and perform any truck we have ever bought. We are a Oilfield Service Company and pull DOT weight every single day. Most of the trucks are 1-2 years old with 65k-155k already. The few Fords we have had nothing good to say about them. No low end pulling power **** poor mileage and 2 with turbo problems. Other than replacing a clutch in our 2004 Dodge 3500 pole truck no other tranny problems. However I personally dont think Dodge makes a nice interior, they sure do run better than anything on the Market period! Plus I would rather be Cummin then Stroken haha I still get a kick out of those window stickers haha

So who gets the lucky Evo? Are you trading it in or selling it on the side?
I just drove Mike's Evo home tonight from the dealer.

I'll be undoing quite a bit. But Mike already got rid of the purple wheels for some nice looking black 17x9 wheels. Not name brand or anything special but they look f'n awesome. The coilovers have got to go though, anyone have some JIC or TEIN coilovers they want to sell?
