NTEC Newb Modding Day - May 9th @ 8 AM (Plano, TX)

Date: Sunday, May 9th
Time: 8:00am - ???
Location: PlanoEvo's house in Plano 10 mins east off Dallas Tollway & Legacy

Back in MN my friend and I would host what we called "Newb Modding Days" where basically a bunch of us all get together, bring our new parts, and wrench for a full day then pour back a few beers in the evening. The last one we had in MN before I left we did 3 sets of cams, 4 sets of lowering springs, a couple short-shifters, a FMIC and piping, tons of shifter bushings, numerous fuel pumps, etc etc etc. Basically we had 2 cars being worked on at a time for 8 hours straight and it was exhausting but a ton of fun!

I wouldn't mind doing something again like this before it gets too hot so maybe May sometime? If you'd be interested in coming to install a few parts or just to help out let me know. If you do have parts you'd like to install list those too please.

Nothing too big or extreme though since this will be a 1-day event with multiple cars going under the wrench so no head gasket, clutch, etc. type of jobs.

This would have been a great idea for my FMIC, UICP, and Intake that I just put on last week, hehe. I have nothing else planned but I'd consider going to learn things and maybe pick up a few tips.

We could do it at my house, or otherwise PlanoEvo also volunteered his garage and since he has an air compressor and a larger driveway I think that may be the way to go. He has a decent selection of tools, as do I. As people post up what they want to install I'll reply back with what specialty tools, if any, are needed.

I'll help with any of that! BUT not the timing belt I just fished a bolt out of mine and wouldn't touch that job again EVER!

LOL thats quite the list! Fluids, brakes, and all the timing belt related stuff should be doable. Speaking of which, I should do my tranny and xfer case fluids too.

Sounds good to me. How about we aim for May 2nd or 9th? That will give people about a month to gather parts.

Rules
1. Everyone who comes helps out on other cars.
2. Take home whatever you bring; don't leave a mess behind.
3. We'll all bring something to share (we'll divide up breakfast, lunch, dinner, etc.).
4. Bring what I tell you will be needed (fluids, grease, anti-seize, PB Blaster, etc.).

This is a great opportunity to start buying up some parts!

Hell yeah! While we're in there you can also consider changing out your lines, rotors, and fluid too. You'll want to pick up a few little packets of that high-temp synthetic brake grease from the auto parts store.

I would love to come and just help out. I just finished modifying my crash beam for my JDM bumper and installing a rear sway. Should have waited lol.

I just talked to Andrew and we've decided Sunday, May 9th is the day! We'll be starting bright and early at 8am to make sure we can get everything done.
