Tech talk and BBQ after MOD?
hey guys, since there will be a bunch of evos up here from ft hood, austin, SA, houston for the MOD at don herring, it might be a good time to have a first meet at our new shop afterwards. we are tossing the idea around to have maybe a 30min-1hr tech discussion, and then BBQ some burgers, brats, hot dogs afterwards and talk about cars
here are some topics that i thought might be interesting:
1. benefits of E85, how to make the most out of it, and where is it
2. fuel injector tech... what are the different types, how do they work, and how do you size them?
3. turbo tech, the basics of how a turbo is sized, how it works, what do all the crazy names for turbos mean?
if we do this, we wont be working on cars, it will be a nice chance to talk about them though
anyone interested? if so, which of the 3 topics would most interest you?

i have a bunch of injectors i can possibly cut apart (i'll have to see how that works ) to show the inner workings. we can describe how the terms when tuning them actually mean "voltage latency" and "Scaling", and if drew wanted, he could build the injector test rig i asked him to build ok drew... in your defense i never said it would be easy... ok maybe i did
and i have a bunch of turbos of different types we can show with examples of ball bearing, journal bearing, external wastegate vs internal wastegate, boost controlling methods, turbines, compressors, etc...

Hey Kevin,
This does sound like fun! We are planning to have a couple (or more) employees attending MOD next weekend and we could have someone available to speak at your tech session about fuel injectors.
Let me know and we can get with you about some of the things you'd like to cover.
