Exclamation Need help with a Forum Contest

Hey guys,

I've been wanting to do something like this for a while but I've never really organized it. Now that there is some motivation, besides having a really nice picture(s), I'd like your help with the September contest on the "other" forum. The prizes for this month are:

a White/Amber Boost Gauge

AND

A black engine cover

All I'm really interested in is the black engine cover. I thought about buying that engine cover a while back but since I didn't NEED it, I opted not to get it. Since this contest will kill 2 birds with 1 stone for me, it's the perfect time to enter the contest and do the picture, but I need your help. If anyone is interested in the gauge, I'm willing to give it away if I win.

So here is what the contest is about:

What we want: Computer Desktop Wallpaper. It should be either Evo X or EvoXForums related.
Use any idea... get that crazy imagination of yours going, get creative!! But do something that you could also put on home or office computer.
Here is my idea (plus I think it would make a great wallpaper for everyone). I'd like to get an Evo X of every color (RR, WW, GG, OBP, PB, AS, and RG since we have one of the few in existence in the club) together and take a few pictures in different configurations. For example: side by side, in a half circle, or whatever else might look good. So if anyone is willing to spend ~30-45 minutes tops on a Saturday for this, that would be awesome.

I'm thinking the easiest place to take the pictures would be in a big parking lot...maybe the lot next to Don Herring Mitsu where MOD was held (plus it's centralized for the most part).

I'm definitely open to suggestions as well! I have until September 26 to submit my picture. We can use the monthly NTEC meet to get everyone together if needed, but not everyone shows up at the same time and lighting might be an issue. Preferably, I'd like to do this during the daytime to get the most color out of the cars (and you're welcome to take any pictures you want as well).

If you'd like to help me in this endeavor (or even just come and hangout for those of you that don't have Evo X's ), please add your name to the list and the color of your car if you plan on it being in the picture. I'll definitely share all the pictures taken. You know I'm good for it by my ever expanding Flickr collection (http://www.flickr.com/photos/rmondoh/sets).

Thanks in advance guys!!

FYI: best light of the day is sunrise and sunset.

It can do things like make a RR into orange (taken at dawn on a Blackberry camera):

If you take the pics around noon the light can make off shadows (which you might want):

^Thanks for the tips Goofy! I really like the lighting in that 2nd picture!

I was thinking either around Noon or close to sunset myself. Personally I am hoping for some Noon shots, but since I would be working with other people's schedules and time, I'll take whatever they can give me.

I will probably be down for this. I'd like to have some nice pics of my car, not that it's anything fancy. I'd try for the contest also for that engine cover, but I think my wife already has it in my bday plans so i think i can help you out

I'd probably be available for a few pictures, but if it really takes a couple hours I'd get bored out of my mind. I'm not real artistic nor do I care to be

Hmm, good point. I really don't expect it to take a couple hours to be honest. I just added a bunch of time since it would involve moving cars around. I'd say more like 30-45 minutes tops if I can figure out what configurations to put the cars in. I'll edit my post.
