anyone know how or if its even possible to data log from the Evo8 using the microSD and not using the cord to my laptop?

I have a link from the "other" forum that has how to do this for the X's. I'm sure it has to be similar for the 8's and 9's. Here is the URL ("EvoXForums" would go between the periods since EvoM censors it). You might also want to get in touch with Goofy. He posted in the thread so he might have actually done this and could possibly give you some more info/tips.

I had it working great on my X, but I don't think it worked on the VIII since it required Mode23 logging to work. Of course it's been a long time, etc.

 

Everything that I'm reading says "no" for the 8/9 because standalone logging requires CAN bus.
