Bummer on it being illegal to prop the plate above the dash . I'll just wait for an officer to tell me, hopefully with a warning in hand.

I like the yellow and I know the front license plate issue has been discussed but can somone link the actual law requiring it to be on the front bumper? My understanding was visible from the front.

For those really concerned about this: http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/vi/misc/faq/faq_item.htm

"State law requires that you display two (2) license plates, one to the front and one to the rear. Placement or mounting of license plates is not defined."

IMO, "front" would be at officer discretion, and definitely not the same thing as forward facing.
