Matt black color

So I live in San Angelo. Does anyone in the Dallas area do custom paint jobs? I'm looking for a matt black look and I drive a PB Evo X. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Trade secret is expensive, Id look around for a better price. I was gonna have them repaint my RS but they wanted quite a bit of money. I wasnt even changing colors or anything.

...and Maaco is cheap; you get what you pay for. If you want the best, you pay for the best. Personally, I'll take top quality paint that's professionally, and properly, mixed and applied.

I dont remember recommending Maaco and I am not painting a ferrari so I wouldnt just pay whatever someone asked me to. I personally would find a better price with similar quality. You can find people better than Trade secret and pay 30k if you want "The best", but where do you draw the line?

I would do a wrap. But most quality wraps go for around $2000.

And I'm 100% sure no one said Trade secret wanted 30K to paint a car.

All the body shops charge about the same price per hour for the various jobs. The questions are...

1. You want your car taped up and painted, or body panels painted off the car.?

2. What paint do you want? There are so many brands and the range in quality is seriously vast. There is paint that costs $50 bucks a gallon and is water based and there is paint that's $600 a gallon that's oil based. There are shops that try and cheap you but using a one step base clear and others like Trade Secret that use a two step process with a separate base and clear.

3. I have had trade secret do two cars and he does fantastic work. If you don't like it. Just tell Tom and he will make you happy guaranteed.

4. I have no doubt that there are other body shops out there that do just as good as maybe even better work. But Tom supports the club every month.

5. The worst thing about them I have heard... they are slow...

Trade Secret did great paint work on my IX, and what really impressed me was how perfectly they matched the 3-stage pearl paint on the WRX.

we have a flat black evo 8 at our shop now that was professionally painted. paint looks excellent. also, the girl who won the don herring MOD day had a matte or flat black wrap on her X. so those are a few examples of what it would look like.

Wrap it all the way and then if you don't like it can be easy to take off

I think you misread my post. I said you can find someone better than Trade Secret and pay 30k if you want. I didnt say that Trade Secret wanted that much.

Hey I tried to go to trade secret since they do support, I just didnt feel the love when I was told what it would cost. Might be justified if I was painting a bumper, but I wouldnt pay what they wanted to do the whole car. Trade Secret was not for me and I was simply stating my opinion for the OP.
