The Best Freak'n Meet EVER!

That's what I'm asking, what kind of meet would it take to get some of you to your first meet in 6 months?

I went to a Freak'n meet once..

Actually it was more like a Meet'n freak. But I'm sure you don't want to hear about that.

Or do you?

I kid, i kid. But seriously... to answer your question... free food and open bar usually helps.

Can mine be a a modified Supra instead? Your buddy's Supra at C&C was awesome. Haven't seen one of those up close before.

Kelly, to make a comment, I don't think it's unreasonable for any single person to drive around 30 to 45 mins one way to come to a meet. After all we live in a huge metroplex.

Everyone have busy lives, might be out of town, or have families.

I have, quite often, called people multiple times and I get rather upsetting answers. Sometimes the answers are the same as some have posted on these forums. " I can't afford the gas to drive there " It's sad to hear that.

While its just a car meet or get together, the most frustrating thing is when people sign up for things and then don't come.

:cough: Sonny Bryan's? I kid, I kid.

I know what you mean, though. Everyone has an opportunity to plan their own meet, if they want, so just take the initiative and do something. It's not like this club charges membership fees or dues or anything like that. Just show up every now and then.

I know I planned the movie thing just because I hadn't been able to make many previous meets since joining NTEC, and even though the movie kind of sucked, I think everyone had a good time.

Hmm... beer at a car meet? Interesting. And I like how you guys say free like "poof" the money for stuff just pops out of thin air.

I like a place with shade to sit in but with space for the rugrats to run around without annoying people.

In the Fall KevinD pulled together a gathering at lake lewisville that had all the rt offerings. Lake and weather cooperated, everybody brought food and beer. Good conversation, great guys and gals--kids came as well. Food and grill were awesome-- We had the place to ourselves. Thinking thats what its going to take for me.

we will be planning an Evo MEGA MEET here soon. we will be unveiling the pikes peak hill climb car.

details will be announced shortly, but we are looking to break the record for most evos at a meet in DFW again. 50+ is what we had at the grand opening several years ago....

That meet was the best. CORN HOLE!!!

Weekend meets are best for me. I have no idea what time I'm going to get out of work and what mood the kiddo and wife are going to be in when I finally do get home so weekday nights are hard for me.

One of the biggest meets we've had was our first Mike Anderson's BBQ meet. We had over 20 cars there the first time. The turnout has gone down quite a bit since that first time, but we get a new face out there every now and then.

Also to keep in mind, we have MOD 2012 at Don Herring Irving this year and in the past, this meet has always brought in a bunch of Evo's (as well as other cars). Of course, that is sponsored by Don Herring Mitsu as well as other vendors that come and show.

The other big meets have been the cruises (of which I haven't been able to attend lately). People seem to show up for those as well.

There was also the picnic that was mentioned above which had a great turnout.

So what do all those things have in common? Only thing I can see right off the top is they are on weekends. Other than that, they each have their own unique characteristics. It would be hard to pinpoint what exactly would help create a consistently huge meet.

Perhaps if we did a charity Show N Shine event every few months or something? Maybe open it up to other cars besides just Evo's? I don't know. I'm just throwing that out there.
