Rudy's

Stupid question time...

On the Austin Hill Country cruise some of us did in March, we ate at Rudy's for lunch.

Did anyone know we had one up here in Allen? Is it new? I just noticed it for a half-second during my errands today along 75. Either I've been totally oblivious or I don't drive that stretch as much as I thought I did.

That one has been up there for a long time. There's also one in Arlington off I20 and Matlock.

In that case, I definitely need to get out more. I just ate there for a late lunch...damn it was good.

You do need to get out more if you think Rudy's is good.

I think the reasons Rudy's in the Hill Country (San Antonio in my case) seems better is because we're on vacation and we're taking a risk with an unknown so the pleasant surprise of something unknown not sucking makes it taste sweeter... that or the 3 beers you guzzle help you forget the 5 hour drive with a nagging wife, I35 traffic and screaming kids makes anything test better...

I noticed they did things a bit differently, but the batch my sandwich came from was good.

Doesn't make it right lol.

Seriously, I think we need to do a BBQ poker run or something... My problem with Rudys is that their meats are a) hidden b) bland. Most people like Rudy's for their sauce -- and I don't like their sauce all that much. Their sides definitely suck. Is it good enough in a pinch? Sure... but if my choice is Rudy's or Spring Creek? I'll actually go to SC because I like their rolls

a warm fuzzy??
thanks, the first for the day!!!
i'm sure dealing with emotionally disturbed students all day
makes me more sensitive to my friends' snarks rather than friendly opinions,
besides,
he wasn't asking about the food from what i can see,
but, again its only my opinion!!
i'm done...

ps bullet,
the SouthNTEC Burger/BBQ meet this winter met at Rudy's on I-20
it was great!!

I dont understand the meats are hidden. I watch them pull it from the oven and cut on the table right behind the front counter...atleast this happened at the one in Austin. The one in dallas was more of a gas station(different set up).

Spring Creek? No. I've tried theirs and it was....well once was enough.
