EvoM vs Facebook

Its finally happened,
To keep in touch w/NTEC events, i'm gonna have to join the enemy?
I guess i don't have quite 'that' much against them, but
1. Our sponsors have dished out money to be on EvoM
2. NTEC experienced two sites/forums years ago and it was a pain keeping up w/two sites
3. Its already reduced traffic on the EvoM NTEC club site

I see a lot of you prefer Facebook,
but is there room for both, and if so,
how should we structure it?

I try to keep all events posted on both, the problem is FP only put up their Shootout info on Facebook as far as I can tell. Added a few details for you in the other thread! Should be a lot of fun, vendors, cash payouts, etc.

it's okay Kelly, I feel your pain. I would've gotten rid of facebook a couple months ago but I have one, only 1 reason to keep it and it is not to talk to friends. and you're right! it has reduced traffic on here a lot. I started checking it less and less now. It is nice to go through EvoM and see what else is happening evo-related aside from just the local scene.

I know some peeps, myself included, don't have a facebook page so its hard to keep up with the info on there, and I frequent this site a lot.

I cross-post all events and the like both here and there. The more active people are here on the forum though, the more others will be as well! I check both very regularly.

I still visit EvoM much more than NTEC facebook. But it is funny to read the facebook thread because they go way off topic almost immediately.

Kracka, thanks for doing a good job cross posting all the meets and such. Helps everybody stay equally informed.

agreed, i stopped looking at ntec fb all together :/ i just use it for my small business till i can advertise proper. kracka does a good job of keeping the nonsense away, even when it has been myself . things tend to go in waves, evom flow will return i'm sure and mr kracka does do a good job of keeping meets updated and making seeing local shops, discounts, and customer reviews in a an easy to find way and has to be my favorite part. i like looking at the i got my new and from where with X review.

Its been another 9 months and the people have voted.
I've been asking active NTEC members and I'll ask it here,
'Is there anything EvoM can offer that Facebook can't?'

Not that I am aware... Facebook seems to just be better.
