First post. Traded my 09 speed3 for a 2010 PB SE. The car has NTEC decals, so I'm assuming a few of you will recognize it. Looking forward to meets and learning about the platform. I will miss the mazda, but I already love this car. Cheers. -Austin

Texas? I would have figured that you were from Australia from the upside down pictures.

I bought it from the MB dealership I work at. I was able to get in touch with the previous owner.

welcome! my last car was a speed as well. I was driving a bcm 06' MS6 until I bought my 08' PB GSR in November. my wife drives the speed6 now so I don't have to miss it at all! I still drive it from time to time just to make sure it's driving ok. It's a big jump going from a speed6 to the evo. The evo is such a better car! It handles like a Porsche or something. it's ridiculous! And it makes the awd in the mazda seem like a joke! Yes, the evo is great, you will enjoy it thoroughly...

A bit jealous of the speed6. Still a very cool car and you don't see many of them....but this evo is hands down the better car. Just need to get it in for a tune to wake it up a bit.

Yeah, the speed 6 is nice. It's fully bolted stage 2 running 21psi. It would probably put down about 285/300. It's quick but my evo puts it to shame! It is a rare car though. Ours is #2612 out of 7000 ever made. Evo responds to mods soooo much better. In fact it responds to mods so well that running accessport stage 2 tune caused clutch to start slipping! Now I'm clutch shopping! lol
Nice! My speed was bolted and tuned on E85. It was pretty quick but traction was definitely an issue. My evo is already fully bolted with a cobb ots map and I'm excited to see what it puts down on ethanol. I will get it tuned on pump gas first and enjoy it for a while. From what I have read so far, the sst will need some work before I start making anything north of 350-375 wtq.

Yeah, I tried self tuning on E85 on the Mazda but couldn't get the timing advance tables right and car acted weird. I said screw it and went back to 93. It seems like everyone(including myself) self tuned the mazda with the AP, but nobody seems to do it on the evo. I guess maybe the ecu on the evo is a little more difficult to get the tables right?
And yes, you're right you wanna keep the torque low on sst until you get some transmission work.
What ots map are you running on the evo?

2010 MR V403 map. I have been babying the car though. I'm familiar with cobb ots maps, and I know they aren't ideal. The previous owner kindly left the map loaded but kept the AP so the new owner wouldn't have any issues being bolted with no tune. The downside is that I can't edit the map in ATR or change the map. Just waiting on a fat paycheck so I can take it to evo d and get a custom tune.
I had lex at stratified do my E85 map in less than a week after I had my pump gas map dialed in. E85 does wonders for the Mazda platform. I'm sure the results would be the same on the evo.

Yeah, definitely baby it especially if its a stage 1 map. Those have crazy aggressive mivec tables. My car ran like crap on stage 1, stage 2 is much better.
