i can see that i missed the same old B.S. about the meets someone proposes nobody responds and nothing happens u fockers are tired, people not comin to meets cause their car is still stock just bein ******, now there is an evo rollin with the same wheels as me why cause we never have meets it would be a cold day in hell that i bought the same wheels as someone else, but if u never meetup and see what someone else has how would u know, hey i love jabba's wheels but i wouldnt buy them , 1 cause he has them 2 i couldnt afford them ,lol. for real if someone wants a set of 18in. 5zigen fno1r-c in the polished black variety i am willing to make a deal , either that or i gotta get mine powdercoated. anyway the part that sucks the most is that dennyt4 lives in my neighborhood seriously only like 10 minutes away . there is literally about 5 evos i know of that live in penn township out here and i only talk to one and he is not on this forum he got a silver mr ix. evo owners seem to = ***'s

Damn everyones getting angry, Dan its ok man theres a lot of people out there with those wheels no biggie. I know denny and by no means did he order those with a malice intent to hurt you.

However one thing i will agree with you on is the meets. We had a good one a few weeks ago when you were on vaca dan, however we MUST get something going locals.

From my experience with a different car community, Corvettes there are few way to go about meeting that should increase attendance.

Ussually it is best for two folks just to pick a day and have a bit of structure.

"Let's meet at XXXX location for a meet friday night" ussually won't garner much interest.

It's best to say that Tom Dick and Harry are meeting for a few drinks at xyz establishment and we will be there from 6-8 to watch a car race/ play darts or something of the like. Try meeting at a restaurant if you'd like to include the under 21 set. Always emphasize that all are welcome. Leave your Ego's at home.

Also, try yo keep the public d!ck slapping to a minimum here. Public criticism just turns people off. Especially new people that we'd like to see go to meets. All of you that I have met in person are good people to hang out with. It often doesn't show through in posts in this thread.

I will also be at this event. I haven't been to the one they have at the waterfront but I hear a lot of great cars show up.

I'm sure it'll also be fun to watch the exotics/classics crawl across the hgih level bridge as well. Should be a good traffic jam to be in.

See you there.

I just sent the person listed on the website as in charge to find out the time. I'll post the time here if he responds.

Thumbs down Wheel Temper Tantrum

Wow - you ARE quite the dick aren't you?? You're ABSOLUTELY right - I should have checked with everyone in the neighborhood - especially you - to see what wheels they have and see if it's OK to get what I WANT! In fact, I should have looked on EVERY Evo forum around to see if everyone OK'd my choice in wheels. Christ, if it matters that much to you, then just keep telling yourself that yours are still original because you have 18" and I went with 17" If that's not enough, maybe you could find a new neighborhood where no one has an Evo so you can be soooooooooooooo original! Talk about bein' a *****!

I don't need to meet up to know what I want on my own vehicle, and I certainly don't need your permission. I mean what exactly would you have said to me at a meet that would have changed my mind about getting the wheels??

Maybe I shouldn't get the Bushur exhaust or a Dynoflash since there are probably other Evo's in the area that have the same thing? Can I get your permission - please oh please - to get those for MY car?

Ok, sorry to everyone else about that little rant, but c'mon - that was a ridiculous little tantrum that SteelCity threw.

Well, Mr. Steelcity does have some good points. All he's saying is that it would be cool to get together every now and then. We have a pretty big group here in Pittsburgh and everyone acts like they're so into their cars. Well if you're that into cars, why not do some stuff with fellow enthusiasts??? If you're not that into it, that's fine too; but don't try to propose meets and back out at the last minute. This happens every single time! Now I'm not the biggest car nut by any means;(I'm very busy with work and my g/f) but I would still like to get together every now and again for some meets, a show, some racing, or whatever. We get discouraged whenever there's a meet proposed and nobody shows up. That's because I know ahead of time that hardly anyone will come. I really don't want to go to a meet at, let's say, the waterfront, when I know in advance that it's just going to be like just the three Dan's and that's all. We could meet in town if it's just the few of us. No need to drive a half hour or hour away for nothing.

As far as the wheels go, I'm not gonna get involved, but it is kind of $hitty to have the same aftermarket wheels as another guy. It's all about customizing your car to your own tastes. In many cases, we all share similar parts though. In one example, I did all the carbon fiber interior pieces for my evo. Mike saw my car and loved the way it looked inside. He asked me if I cared if he did something similar. I of course said, "yeah go ahead." Mike's evo is one of the premier show evo's in the region, so I took it as a compliment that he wanted to make his interior similar to mine. You and Dan might now know each other, I don't know, but it's not the end of the world either.

Well when people start MAKING their own custom parts, THEN they can ***** and moan about someone else having the same look. Until then, people that buy aftermarket parts are just going to have to accept the fact that other people may have the same parts. If he's that upset about it, he can sell them like he said in his post, and then he can go find someone to make him a one-off wheel so he doesn't feel so insecure.

Here are the mods he lists on his car...

"3"rs*r catback apexi intake upper intercooler pipe greddy type rs blowoff turbo xs hpbc boost controller"

Which of those are one-of-a-kind?? Which of those did he invent?? Did he check with everyone in Pittsburgh to make sure no one else is running any of the same mods?

My point is simple - do want you want to YOUR car, but DO NOT try to tell me what I should or should not have, or that I should meet up to discuss what is/isn't going on my car. You don't see me crying that I want to sell my wheels now that I know he has them, do you?
