At the time I was working on a superfund project behind the Long Valley fire department on Long Valley Rd (I think thats the road). Anyway you may have read about it in the local paper. My company was contracted by the epa to come in and remove all the old ordinance buried after WWII ended. So we hired a UXO (Unexploded Ordinance) subcontractor to perform the work for us. Of coarse 95% of the bombs they found were inert because either the explosives degraded or the fuses were taken out... but there were a few times we had to blip (blow in place) which was pretty cool to watch.
I used to eat lunch all the time at an Italian pizza shop in the center of town, boy did they have good food! I also remember a lot of cops sitting in driveways trying to catch speeders, lucky for me I wasn't one of them.
