What does upper and lower ic pipe do?
Hey all. Sorry for the such newb question, but anyone know about the upper or lower ic pipe? If i get a aem intake with bov, will it affect the lower or upper piping? I've seen pictures with a bov on the intake and i've seen pictures with it on the lower ic piping. I'm not really sure what they do. Any information here would help alot for this newbie that wants to learn!

IC Piping effectively cools your intercooler by eliminating the number of bends that exist in the stock piping. From what I've heard upper IC piping is more bling and lower IC piping is more of a performance mod.

i sure hope you never saw a bov on the lower. Thats almost impossible unless you are looking at an aerial view of the engine bay or underneath the car, with the splash guards removed.
Anyhow. The upper and lowr pipes jointly will increase volume of air allowed through the IC pipes. Thus allowing for some improved throttle characteristics and some slight HP increase. You'll mostly noice this is the lower gears in the lower rpms. Its even safe to say spoolup is increased.
As far as mounting. That all depends on the application you want.

So I can get a regular aem intake and a greddy bov without messing with the ic piping? From what your saying, for the prices, they don't seem like they are worth it.
