I think that's a common misconception to call KTR pricey. We all know the old addage; "You get what you pay for". And you certainly do there. Check out their newly designed website:

You cannot stump Franz with anything pertaining to EVO's or STI's and they do hard jobs faster because they have all the right tools to do it proper. So in some respects they may come out even to some lesser shops. Also they have a dyno dynamics dyno there. Which to me is the gold standard of dyno's. Anybody can post 400WHP on a dynojet, IMO, but post that on a DynoJet and you've got yourself a fast car.

I'm not going to get into a pissing match about this. But that's the exact opposite of what they are trying to do. When i walked in there last week to get my steering rack installed, they were in a meeting about how to better communicate the fact that they are trying to go back to their grassroots and do fabricate and service again. What most people don't understand is KTR European Motorsports and KTR Performance are two totally seperate entities. They have different websites, managers and even budgets. This is the biggest problem people don't understand about KTR. And i'm glad you said what you said above, because hopefully Franz will see it and it'll hit home for him to realize they really do need to communicate more with the community. I was just speaking to him yesterday about the work he's been doing. He just tuned a GT35R EVOMR, (the guys a member on here also) was excited to do a reflash, and sent me a pic of the exhaust manifold;

Franz is again the general manager of the shop and i can assure you they aren't turning away any business. And less than exemplary work, i'd love to hear that story. Please do tell.

One more thing about KTR, they are the only local shop doing ECUTEK flashes, and i'll let the owner of the car chime in here, but let's just say that the last two cars Franz has tuned that had a dyno flash versus his reflash, Franz made significantly more power. If you are familiar with the Flash2004 software there is just no comparison what it's able to do vs. what al does. Period. I'll be tuning my MR there no doubt. I'll ask franz to also post the info on the car he just tuned.

listen im glad you had a great experience, but i had the WORST POSSIBLE situation with KTR. I will never return there ever and if i get the chance to torch the place i probably will. Should have just left it alone when i said it was pricey. They dont even do old VW's anymore my buddy called for brakes for his MK2 and the laughed at him the phone. When i got my VW back form them it was in worse shape then when i orignally brought it there. I brought it to northern european automative and they laughed at the jimmy rigid sh*t they did to my dub. The asked if i had brought it to a gas station to get it fixed. Not to mention a one week job took two months.
I see Forum04PL had to ask for backup. Cool. Well i heard what really happened with your experience above and if i was the manager at KTR i would have done the same thing. Anyhow, i'll let the owners of the both previous mentioned cars chime in. And for the record they aren't turning away any work, they aren't turning away work on VW's , only yours. Quite a difference.
