Hit a deer

Was trying to get to Denny's in Danvers just now ... wrote down the wrong directions and ended up taking an exit off I-95 onto Route 97.

Was looking for a place to U-turn when I saw a couple of deers to my right. Slammed on the brakes and swerved to avoid them, but one of them decided to run towards the car and it hit me on the passenger side. I was down to around 15 mph at the point of impact.

I immediately pulled over to the side to check the car. The lights are ok, and there wasn't any blood at all. Somehow, the rims didn't take any damage. The car drives perfectly, but the passenger door won't open. The passenger side mirror and fender are both messed up.

The thing is, I didn't even get the satisfaction of mutilating the deer's dead body. It just looked at me and walked away. Times like this make me wish I was driving a hummer. Would have just ran right over it like a speed bump.

I will post pics tomorrow, hopefully the insurance will cover most of the repair costs. Just when I saved up enough money for mods .... damn it!

Dude,
In Mass you have to report that to the State Police. The deer most likely ran into the woods and died. Can't leave the corpse out there. It will also make it easier to get the insurance company invloved. Also, if the deer is dead, you get first dibs on it.
