Lapped the Beaver

This weekend I ran at BeaveRun with NASA. The track didn't look all that great on paper but was really a lot of fun. My braking for T1 needs work and there's a lot more speed to be had through 2,3,4 and 6,7. The Beaver is definately on the rotation. Oh, pit-out is not in a good spot, you have to pay attention.

The facilities are great. The new main office/classroom has a good view of the track, showers, and air-conditioning (though next time how about a few degrees cooler). The paddock roads are paved and the spaces are gravel, not so hot for race tires but I hate parking in mud. They have a big lot for autox/skidpad and a kart track. It's an easy drive from Columbus.

I had the only Evo and no STis but there were plenty of Corvettes to pass! Finally there was a Viper (comp coupe) being driven like it's supposed to be. On Sunday a Cobra R caught fire on the front straight. The driver handled it well and pulled onto the access to the planned south track. For the huge fireball and cloud of black smoke the damage wasn't too bad and the driver was unhurt. It looks to have been a fuel line.

BeaveRun and Putnam Park are good tracks to get started on, get out there!

That's what they put on their T-shirts! They have a couple open track days coming up. From Cleveland or anywhere east it's a quick trip. The track surface and facilities are a lot better than Nelson.

I'll probably go 15 July, one of their "flat out" Fridays. Bring your OZ and give it an Italian tune-up!
