COMSCC's first event of the year at NHIS has opened for registration two days ago. I rarely see any motorsport activity on this board so this is a total longshot. I will be there along with some friends and I know a bunch of people from NASIOC will be there.

I haven't even really drove it yet, UPS messed up the shipping with my tires so I have been driving my 8 around because ADVANs suck in winter.

I am interested...about how much am I looking at money wise for registration and participation per event?

I've never road raced before but I'd definitely like to try it out this summer. Any tips or words of advice for a newb are welcome!

 

First, go read the rules/regulations at www.comscc.com. The events are 165 per day, 330 for the weekend. The first day is open track practice, the second day is time trials. You probably WON'T get to do time trials your first time out. I would really reccomend a weekend at BMWCCA or a similar HPDE to get the feel of the track. They tend to take it easy and really focus on learning the basics whereas COM is more competitive. The learning curve is really steep and you will catch on quick.

Get some decent tires, pads, flush your brake fluid and an SA2000+ helmet and that is all you really need. Feel free to IM me with more questions. You will have a ****ing blast and never go to another autocross again.
