flybyevo I live off of Jericho by the Huntington Post Office and Porsche dealership. Where did you pick up your EVO? I am still waiting on a white one, that reminds me I have to go to the Credit Union and check out the rates!

Spanked,

I am just north of Jericho off Park Avenue. Maybe 3 miles away. Good luck on the SC police test Saturday... You could work just a few minutes away at the 2nd pct...

I picked my car up at Sunrise . MalibuJack picked up his at Wantagh . I will keep my eye out for a white beast. Sunroof?

Flybyevo...

I prefer the sunroof. I like the extra air and light. Some don't like the extra weight and they say it may flex more. I don't have any experience with that though.

Let me know where you live I will drive by.

I am good but how are YOU?

Woops I meant how old are you? I just saw my first EVO on the road and in my neighborhood but it wasn't you. It was a silver EVO on Park Ave, do you know who that is?

I don't know who has the silver one if they live around here. They may have just been visiting though.

If you want a white one I am sure they are available on Long Island. I think where I bought mine from there is one....

I am 46 and you?

What salesman sold you the car at Sunrise? They just got a white one (their 1st supposedly). I test drove the car and was ready to buy at Sunrise but I got 2 better offers and Sunrise said they would rather sit on the car another month until fast and the furious comes out. I told them that if that doesn't help they will sit on the car even longer because after that month the STI is coming out.

I am 25 and just want to get the best deal I can. I know I am taking a risk of not getting one at all but I seriously need to save money for a house (hoping the real estate bubble will burst on LI)! I don't like negotiating over the phone but every place I call they keep telling me they will beat the price of the last guy. The question that still remains is how low will they go and for how long, I know if I wait too long they will be gone but on the other hand they may come down even more. I have been interested in this car for 3 years but not sure where I will be with my job plus I have a nice truck thats been very reliable. What to do?!

Ken Connolly was my salesman but when I called to ask about the white for you they said he no longer works there. Which salesman did you speak with?

What did they ask for the car? Did it have a sunroof?

What was your best offer?

Joe Lombardi was the salesman and I think Mitch was the manager. When I went 2-3 weeks ago they wanted a $1000 over MSRP. Then a few days later everyone was asking MSRP then Bell Mitsubishi in northern NJ said $500 below. I then called Riverhead because they offer financing through my credit union and he said $1000 below. I called Sunrise back and like I said above he said he would sit on them another month until fast and the furious 2 is out!

Honestly, I think I am going to call Bell Mitsubishi back and ask them if they will beat Riverhead's offer. I am willing to take the drive if they are willing to give me the best offer plus I'll save about $100 in tax if I buy it in NJ.

The sales tax is paid when the car is sold. But if the car is sold in a different state than it is registered in usually the dealer will register the car for you and at the time the car is registered the tax is then paid to the state it is registered in.

So, if you are registering the car in New York it makes no difference where you buy it you are still paying the same sales tax.

Very true! The dealership said they would handle all that for me. Did you finance through Mitsubishi or another bank?

I financed through Chase. You will probably get a better rate through outside financing. I just went to look and drove one home. It was raining all day and I came by at 6pm and they had only sold one car. I was able to get what I thought was a good deal. They asked if I would take the car right now. I turned to my wife and she looked away so I knew I was in.

She drove it home and I drove the Galant. It was hard keeping up.

Looking back if I knew I was going to take the car on my first visit to my first dealer I would have liked to have the financing in place before I went. It makes it easier to get a better rate I think. If you think you are going to drive the car home try to have your financing set before you go.

Good luck on the SCPD test tomorrow.....

Thanks! I know I will do fine on the test it's the lie detector test once they call you back that I am afraid of! But that won't be for some time. My friend just got called after taking the test 3 years ago and he said SC is the most crueling and the hardest to get into. I already have a job but have always wanted to be in law enforcement.

Yes I am looking into all the finance rates before I go. I am going to call tomorrow and if the rates are good I am heading to NJ to get this car before I burst.

Ok I need to get to bed, big day tomorrow and I have to go to Port Jeff. Talk to you soon.
