Everybody wants to be an admin I guess.. and in the end, it'll look like Honda forums, everyone will have their own and you'll have the same posts on all of them since you have no clue where anybody is anymore.
There's tristateevo.com too!

Damn, I'll have to create mytownevo.com so the 3 of us here can talk.
That's your opinion and you are certianly entitled to it. The board, as mentioned before, was not created to compete with EvoM, it is simply a regional forum.

Using your logic, None of the individual forums really need to exist, there is a NE region subforum on EvoM, and we should just all post here. Obviously that did not meet the needs of Evo owners in NY, and Evo-NY was created. Just as socal evos and norcal evos exist to better serve evo owners in those areas.

NE-Evos.net was created to serve more than just the NY metro area, and I believe that is pretty obvious judging by the individual state forums and the map in the site logo. I hope it does it's job, and I will do my best to ensure it does.

Furthermore, I wouldn't have spent the money (my own money) registering a domain name and paying for space/bandwidth "just to be an admin". I saw a need in my area, and I created a site to serve it. I figured the same need existed in states throughout the northeast so I decided to try to serve them as well.

I hope Evo-NY continues to be as prosperous as it has been, as well as EvoM. But if NE-Evos can help serve owners in states throughout the NE then it will do exactly what I intended and that's all the better for Evo owners from Maryland to Maine.

Thanks for the bump!

I don't think you understood what I was saying, actually I know you didn't otherwise you would't have posted this. I said that the local board *already exists* and that is Evo-NY which was always a tri-state board, at least for the past 3 years, however none of you obviously go there and thus decided to create your own (I only saw one thread by you Steve, and it was when you tried to sell your old car).
And comparison to Socal/Norcal Evo is silly to say at least. California has about 55 million (legal) people. NJ has how many? They had to split it up. It takes days to ride from south to north Cali, you can do Jersey in few hours on reserve.

But maybe North East for you means only around Tom's River or Freehold or I don't know, so that's why I made a comment that maybe I should start my own board for people in my town. I used to post in spotted thread both here and on Evo-NY and rarely anyone from central/south Jersey folks ever replied so I stopped bothering.
I'm glad that board will work out for you and your crowd but I honestly doubt people from NNJ will join since they already have a board, and not to mention anyone from NY or MA or any of the northern states. You will get folks from around Philly and maybe your neighbourhood. That's not north-east
Paying $15/year for a domain name to play admin isn't much
Enjoy.

At this point I really just need to ask if you've even looked at the NE-Evos forum, and that's simply because it sounds like you havn't. The board is not for JUST NJ. I did not name it "NJ-Evos"... It is NE-Evos, which encompasses all the states from Maryland to Maine. Just to humor you, I totalled the population of all the states the site is intended to reach... a hair under 62 million (legal) people. Yes, you could argue that more people from norcal have Evos than the NE US, and I wouldn't argue that fact, but getting that far into the details is just silly. Also, it also take quite a good bit of time to get from NE Maine to Washington DC, every bit as long as it would take to get from San Franscisco to San Diego. The board is bigger than NJ, just because I am from NJ means nothing.

Also, geographically, Pennsy, Maryland, and south Jersey are as much a part of the "Northeast" US as Maine is. Some resources even consider Ohio part of the Northeast, but since the overwhelming majority did not, I didn't include them. Sorry Ohio

And you're absolutely right, $15 a year for a domain name isn't much. But registering a domain name alone doesn't get you a website, which I'm sure you know. In addition to this, anyone who wants a website to be reasonably reliable would not host it on a free hosting service either.

In all honest, your posts have made it seem like you're attacking the site, for no other reason than because you're mad we didn't just join Evo-NY instead. While I can appreciate your criticism, it is really doing neither of us any good. I feel that I've expressed the intentions of NE-Evos quite well in my last few posts, if you have more questions regarding it, please PM me.

OK guys. This started out civil, let's keep it that way and on-topic. Thanks.

TristateEvo is not a forum like Evo-NY or EvoM, yes we co-mingle with Evo-NY and whoever would like to meet up with us like other Evo owners and clubs. We do meet on a weekly bases on Thursday at different locations throughout Jersey so everyone that lives in North, South or Central Jersey can meet and hangout with fellow Evo owners. We also represent at the car shows and there's quite a few of that race on the strip and auto-X. Just wanted to keep our name out of the class of a forum.

As for the new site, I'm glad they are doing another site. Some people don't like certain forums and they may feel comfortable at another forum. Who cares if there's hundred forum sites. It's up to the person if they want to join or not.

hey its just another venue for other evo enthusiasts to keep in touch... I spend most of my time here but do peek into other sites to keep up with everything. For those that don't like it, so be it....for those who do, enjoy! As for comments about competing... why does it always have to be about competition? Can't we all just get along. My 2 cents thats all.
