front plate question for NJ owners

I really dont want to put a front plate on. I dont have one on any of my other cars. The deal on those is that they came inspected in NJ from the dealer so I just took off the plate. The evo i got in NY so I have to get it inspected in NJ. Does anyone have any creative ideas on how I can pass inspection with a temp plate mount? Are there magnetic ones on? Right now I have used zip ties on the plate to hold it on. Hopefully that will pass on tuesday. If not I am going to have to think of something creative. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

i have my front plate zip tied to the grill in front of the intercooler set to the right. looks better than the stock mount and haven't had a problem with any cops. i don't see why that wouldn't pass inspection.

yeah i guess it depends on how much of a hard time the inspectors want to give me. I guess ill take my shot at it. I plan to take it completely off after inspection. I am also trying to find a private facility that would inspect the car.

In 2002 I bought a Montero Sport in Daytona. When I came home and took it to inspection they did not actually inspect it. They sent me to the front of the line, scraped off the Florida dealer sticker and stuck on the NJ sticker

Check you laws. Some of the states it doesn't need to be on the front bumber as long as it clear and visiable the windsheild is fine but that depends on your state go check to be sure

the mounting the dealers give u is just a easy way to get the plates on the car. but aslong as its on ur front bumper area its ok. (mine still no plate after 1 year. knock on wood) i dont even display it in windshield, that jsut yells, look at me. no issues no tickets. just gotta blend in.

I got inspected when I lived in jersey with the front plate under my passenger seat!!!! They didnt even say a word about it.. Then I got pulled over 3 weeks later. I mounted it behind the bumper...

Then a week later I got pulled over again for no front plate.. I argued with the cop, that the law states the plate must be visible from 100 ft away.. The further away you got the easier it was to see.. Guess what I got another ticket.. A week later I got a ticket for having a trim piece on my back plate.. not a smoked cover just a little plastic trim ring the dealer puts on it.. I have a clear record as far as moving violations go, and I was never caught doing anything stupid on the road.. Guess it depends on the city in Jersey if they wanna hassle you or not..

Other violations i got - loud horn/audible device for my exhaust? Jersey is crazy!
