Turbotrix or Sean Ivey
Sorry guys didnt mean to start a "war"...
As far as my eclipse tune, I was very happy with it besides the psi issue, which it was fine when i lowered the boost. I'm not bashing TT as I am a big fan of the shop and I have no problems taking my evo there for service. They have been around for quite sometime. The reason for this post is bc I heard that Sean Ivey is a real good tuner and I was thinking of giving him a shot. He told me that only his personal mechanic work on the cars he brings in NOT 1320 (not a big fan of that shop). I was thinking of having my work done at TT but get it tuned by Sean.

I have cleaned up this thread quite a bit and removed anything off the main topic, random bashing or stupid comments, and second or third hand info. Keep in on track and civil or it goes away.
i have been going to turbotrix for a while now and they have treated me with noting but respect.....as for mike behind the counter,,the guy is a busy man the phone rings every 10 seconds..... i have heard alot of good things about ivey and that he is possible the best...... to each his own....what up mark..

Been going to TT with my old 1G DSM and never had any problems. And we all know whosever been there if your sitting there for more then 5 minutes mark and jeff are always running around with parts in there hands, mikes walkin around with the phone in his hand an as soon as he puts it down it rings again lol but all in all TT is a chill place. But if Ivey is reputable go for it!
^ True but if you get to close to Diesel and he has that huge yacht rope in his mouth an he starts shakin his head all around, id advise to step back cause he bruised my arm all up wit doin that lol!
my last evo 03 was TT tuned....was it the best tune? who knows but it felt alil smoother then dynoflash but back in the day i didnt have wideband or logging (nor did i care
) technical knowledge they may know but just avoid talking to the thick black curly haired italian looking dude. he'll just blow smoke at you but ofcourse he's just their clown. talk to mark or jeff directly as only they will work on your car and treat it right.

I won't go into this whole "who is better than whom" discussion. Just pick a tuner that's relatively local to you and see what kind of work they do. Are they dragracing oriented? Track oriented? Street oriented? Do you feel comfortable with them?
Try to figure out your goals. Do you want the maximum peak HP possible to impress your buddies? Do you want the broadest possible torque curve for drivability? Do you want to get rid of high-rpm boost taper? How comfortable are you with boost spiking? What's your tolerance level for high-rpm knocking? Talk to the tuner and see if you're on the same page. For example, I wouldn't want a dragracing guy tuning my car for maximum peak power if I'm a roadracer whose car will run full boost at 7500 rpm for 30 minutes at a time on a 95 degree summer day.
After that, I'd pay whatever the extra cost for a custom dyno tune with a wide-band O2 sensor. Every car is a little different. It's always a good idea to get a tune for your particular engine. If you decide to go with a mail-in flash, I would ask the tuner to be quite conservative. Personally, I don't care about the HP numbers. I want to see a safe air:fuel mix across the board, and a nice torque curve. Your criteria may differ. Either way, tuning your car on the dyno will help you reach your tuning goals safely.

I have been tuned by TT twice already, first time was just a base mail-in flash and the next was a custom tune on the dyno which only cost $200 or $250, don’t remember. I am going to be throwing on a FMIC, HKS 272’s and a Snow Performance meth kit and am torn between who I want to tune this time. I want to try Sean but he is $450 for a tune and not sure if he can make much better numbers than TT safely. The main thing that is odd to me is TT charges half the price Sean does for a custom tune on the dyno. The money I would save from a TT tune could buy me a lot of meth lol. Any input?
ummm, TT's site says its $500 for a custom dyno tune. Maybe you got it for less cuz you went back to them for a re-tune after the mail-in. Usually the initial tune is expensive and re-tunes with the same tuner costs a lot less.
