did you retorque them after a few cycles after the initial installation?
i know on the subaru, you definitely had to else this would happen. once things loosen up a bit, i think the gasket just melts and things just get progressively worse.

Normally I do not classify much of anything as EPIC. However, this word applies twice here in this fail. 1st would be the quality of this o2 housing gasket after only 10K +/- miles. 2nd would be yours truely...ME for even using a waffle type gasket thinking it was okay. So, I tackled the Megan o2 housing reseal last night. When I took down the two bolts/springs from the DP flange, the o2 housing actually moved....the gasket was beyond destroyed. To the point that with the constant temp changes the studs/nuts and bolts holding the Megan o2 housing to the 10.5 hotside had loosen completely. With a majority of the gasket blown out and missing, the entire housing was actually loose and I removed the hardware by hand. I only took pics of the gasket failure because I was really dirty and wanted to finish the job at a decent hour so me and Kenny still had time to make the best out of a Monday night out here in Manchester....we succeeded 
Do not be like me and use the factory gaskets when resealing an exh manifold and o2 housing if/when u upgrade these components like I did. Here is the aftermath. EPIC FAIL.

...and yes, I totally made a rape joke last night in front of a lady friend at breakfast. I hope you thoroughly enjoyed that Kenny. I went off teh deep end on that one for a little "SlingBlade" type humor
