he did not simply clear a cel as it would just come back over time.

That's the same rolling diameter, just different width 
Guys run these "staggered" setups on different width wheels on Audi's and the X without a problem but I wouldn't personally risk it.
Off topic: Does anyone have an 9 lip laying around they don't need? Mine is broken and I don't feel like repairing it. The evo's starting to look goofy rolling around without a front lip

no one failed me,they just refused to even try. apparently my perrin exhaust is just too loud for MA. according to one shop, any exhaust modification is an automatic fail, and a 1000 fine to the shop that gives a sticker to a car with one. i have no CEL, and a fairly modified car. just surprised at how much of a pain in the *** it was to get a sticker.
